-------------- I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain

I too had a long standing love affair with sugar, chocolate, and ice cream. You can change. Try fruit, yogurt, sugar free pudding, nuts, popcorn, sugar free ice cream. Try gradually replacing the bad stuff. You have to work slowly and develop the taste for the better alternatives. If you try to change all at once you will have a more difficult time. Good Luck

Splenda and unsweetened cocoa help me over the rough spots. I sometimes add them to my protein shakes.

I still get the ole sugar craves; usually at night before bed. It takes everything I got to keep from eating some of my kids cookies, or Little Debbie snack. I use to give in ALL the time, but I am learning to prepare little yogurt snack ahead of time so that I don't have the inconvenience of taking time to prepare a healthy snack when I want something right now. So, my freezer is full of little tupperware dishes filled with vanilla yogurt with a little natural peanut butter mix in; this seems to help, but I just need to learn to stop at one container.

Pour yourself a glass of diet Pepsi with three ice cubes, it seems to work for my girlfriends sugar craves.
Don't worry about what they say about aspartame.
Good Luck.:dumbbell:

Hi I'm new here but I just had to address your question. I have lived the low carb lifestyle for over a year and I no longer crave sugar or dessert or any of the bad carbs. I was a carb addict and this has cured me. I strickly follow the healthy Atkins lifestyle where I eat plenty of the good carbs (vegges, fruit) but none of the bad carbs (white flour or sugar). Its just a thought that this might help you too. :)

I kind of like dill pickles too. Believe me I have no idea what that has to do with this post and sugar but......
