Alright, so i went over to the inner thighs machine (hip adduction). And i did the entire stack of 259lbs. Somehow, i didnt think i shoulda been able to do it, but i did it CONSISTENTLY for 10 reps. I used to swim, so my inner thighs were strong, but...what do i do now? stay away from it? Also, on my 1 rep max for leg extensions i did the entire stack of 360 (i think its 360, but the point is, it was the entire stack). I cant even legpress 110 without feelin like ima bust somethin. Any explanation why? I mean, seriously...and my legs aren't HUGE by any means....i know i should just keep focusin on my squats and other exercises in my strenght and mass routine, but i was wondering if anyone had any advice and or views on whats up....

are you cheating? I never seen a leg extension over 250lbs myself, I mean i'm not saying you can't, but I see peopel doing stuff they shouldn't be doing all the time, a good leg extension is, coming up slow and holding the contraction for a cound of 1, 2 then slowlu lowering it down, not swinging using momentum.

fine, have a hard time...im just saying i got it up, ALMOST straight, and held for like one sec before i desperately needed to put it back down. I am adamant about not swinging, so i know i didn't do that. The seatbelt aided keeping me in the chair, but thats the only thing i can think of. My buddy was even there to see it, and he couldn't believe his eyes either. Be skeptical if you will, you always are hec.

could have been 260...but it was the entire stack at my rec center.

The leg extension is the one where you put your feet under the pads and in a seated postition, extend your legs straight out. You did that for 360? If we had bowing down smileys, I would sure use one now!
One other note on the adduction, the trick here is as much the stetch out as pushing the weight in. You want to be completley stretched out, then resist the stretch when adducting. This is what makes these more difficult, but is what is the most useful about them.

Oh word, thanks bb1, youre the first helpful post. Uhm, i asked my buddy and he said it was 260, so i was wrong when i said 360. But as far as the adduction, ill try stretching farther next time.

yeah, some folks get on the adductor and just adduct over and over, without getting the real benefit from it. Doing this, you can of course do more, but without the intended results. On each rep, let the weight stretch you out till you really feel it, and then resist that stretch on your adduction. The trick on the abductor is different also. Most folks get on it and set a little weight and just abduct out slowly and come back in. The trick here is to set a good amount of weight, and do very short fast reps.
