I tore my pec and because of the way my HMO works, it will be two weeks until I see an orthopedist. Is there anything I can be doing now to help the healing process?

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain

DO NOT TRAIN!!! Ice and ADVIL(ibuprofin) for the first day or two to keep the inflamation down. Then wait to see the doctor. I know that insurance(especially HMO's)covers ANY emergency room visit(even though they discourage you from doing so, so you'll see their doctors instead). It may be a good idea to get tended to sooner than two weeks for a torn pec...wait a tic...how do you know it is torn?!

I went to see an orthopedist today and it is a torn pec. He said that the best thing today is rest. When the pain is gone to start back slowly and use light weights.
Thanks for your responses.
