I've seen the stuff for years on the grocers shelf and love eggs but never tried it until recently. I like it and its so easy to make and healthy.

Yes egg beaters are alright. The problem for me is the price. I eat about 4-6 egg whites per day. Once I figured out how to separate the yolks from regular eggs I just got the regular eggs. Saved a bunch of money. However, you can't beat the convenience of the EB.

I like the different flavors they have, too!
It is spendier, but if it means you will eat a healthier breakfast, definitely worth it!!! |

Different flavors. Must not have made it to my neck of the woods. My favorite flavor for eggs. peppers, salsa, or tabasco

or pico de gallo!
My favorite recently is little asparagus spears, mushrooms and onions, sauteed and then add your egg whites and scramble - sooo tasty! |

I scramble up my eggs with a dash of milk (makes it fluffy), about a tbsp salsa, cheese and either diced up ham or bacon.. very good!
If you use only 1 egg, you can put in a small bowl (about the diameter of an egg muffin) and put in the microwave for about 1:20. Cooks to that form and makes a great egg/whole wheat muffin sandwich |

What is also really good is lots of thawed spinach and a little reduced fat feta. I'm all for quick too and this is a snap. Mmmmmmm...

I tried the new cheese and chive eggbeaters this morning - a little watery tasting, but fast and easy!-------------- Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but the ability to start over. - F. Scott Fitzgerald |

I eat them with spinach and feta as well, but rolled up in a small whole wheat tortilla..yummm. My all time forvorite is with LF cheese and salsa in a ww tortilla! The egg beaters are rather expensive, when compared to just eggs, but I love the convenience and the fact that they are lower in fat-and with omega3! OK now I'm hungry, must be snack time!-------------- Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there. |

This morning i threw 1/3c black beans with cumin and chilies in the pan and then added the egg beaters (the rest of the cheese and chive), had it on top of a carb cutter tortilla with a little smoky chipotle sauce, pretty tasty.

My husband brought home some of the packaged hard boiled eggs the other day. I've seen them in the store but just couldn't bring myself to buy them-it just seemed wrong. Well, they were very good and extremely convenient! Think they'll be on my grocery list from now on. Great quick protien snack! Guess it's a sign of laziness (or being way too busy) when your buying pre hard boiled eggs:laugh:-------------- Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there. |

If I am out and about and didn't plan my snack - I can usually find the pre-cooked hard boiled eggs and an apple at the gas station, then I feel that I ate something healthy instead of opting for fast food.
Hard boiled eggs keep for a long time - you could save some money by making your own once a week, peel them and bag them in the number you eat at once. -------------- Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but the ability to start over. - F. Scott Fitzgerald |

I didn't know that grocery stores sell pre-cooked hard boiled eggs. Whenever I pre-package my egg whites, I usually find that there's all this watery stuff that goes along with them. It's probably just water. What do you think though?

Yeah, they sweat. I would guess they are slowly dehydrating as the cells in them break down and reslease fluids. That just sounds gross, though, so i try not to over-analyze it..maybe someone will give us a lengthy scientific answer that will put us off of hard-boiled eggs completely....-------------- Vitality shows not only in the ability to persist but the ability to start over. - F.
