Just came across FT from one of the other fitness boards I frequent. I've been browsing non stop for about an hour now and I like the vibe that I'm getting. Seems like people here do want to help one another and that's definitely something I dno't see in many other places.
A little about me - I've been following a low carb diet the past month and a half. Down from 252 to 230. I've just recently joined a gym after a long layoff of 2 years. I'm doing full body workouts just to get back into the swing of things and plan to progress to a 4 day split within the next 2 weeks or so. Or once the pain goes away :laugh:
I know that the low carb diet isn't in the plans for much longer and am trying to learn about the proper nutrition guidelines I should be following in order to get optimum results. Same goes for my weight training routine. I'm currently using machines but would like to incorporate some free weights. I must admit I feel intimidated not so much by the free weights themselves, but more the members working out. Something I'll definitely need to get over, if I'm ever to take it to the proverbial, next level. Anyone have any tips/suggestions on how to do that??
That's about it for now. I look forward to absorbing as much information as I can from the board, and helping out in any way shpae or form. I'm off to read more posts...
Thanks.

There is no shame in failing - Only in not trying..
Once people see your dedication and effort you'll find many who will be, not only accepting, but willing to help you out. Most people who are into lifting are much like the people here. Most are glad to help. Of course, there's always going to be the occasional knucklehead but then they are everywhere. Just stick to what you are doing and focus on your goals and you will be fine. Good luck and welcome to ft.
