How to train nervous system

I was reading a post a while back but cant remember who said it. That to become stronger you do not have to gain weight you should train your nervous system and your trunk. How would you train your nervous system and I am assuming that your trunk is your abdominal region. If not what is your trunk as well and how would you train that.

I also think this nervous system training is also what allows martial artist to brake large amounts of bricks. They harness their energy for extreme focused power. Kind of like this breath in your nose out your mouth. Do this rapidly start to focus on your objective feel your self building power inside then explode and lift the weight.

Dynamic box squats and speed bench are a great way to recuit more motor units. Check out those posts.

An efficient nervous system will recuit more of what you have rather than laying down more tissue mass to accomplish the same goal.
