I have been on a low carb diet and exercise program. So far I have seen results. My main concern are my abs. I just can't seem to do a proper crunch even though its been shown to me different ways. My neck hurts instead. I want to be able to work my abs. Any suggestions?
When doing a crunch don't place your hands behind your head. That is a common mistake. Instead cross your arms over your chest. When doing the crunch, focus on lifting you shoulders (actually your upper back) off the floor just a couple of inches. Lift by tightening the muscles in the upper ab area. Maintain this 'tightness' throughout the movement. You don't have to move very much to get the effect. Sometimes it helps to put your feet up in a chair or bend your knees. It's kind of hard to explain but once you do a couple of them you'll get the hang of it. Hope this helps.
