Supplements can be a great aid with your health and fitness goals. Combined with the proper exercise and nutritional plan they can be quite effective.

Can/should a person take creatine as part of a weight loss work out?

sure, it will actually help you burn fat a little better too (nothing extreme, but a little aid in burning).

Creatine hydrates muscle. You will gain a little weight by using it but jsome is correct , in that the added muscle will burn fat more efficeintly. I read your profile and we share the same heart disease history. Following the diet and exercise programs here, I have lowered my cholestorol 30 points and my Dr says blood pressure meds may soon be unnecessary. There are loads of benefits to persuing this.

Good luck.

The only problem that arises is that most fat burners are loaded with caffine. Caffine in itself is a diruetic. Creatine, to get the most out of it you should consume larger amounts of water. So, just increase your water intake, and you should be fine. I am not a big fan of any "fat burner", I think they are all a scam and therefore am against using them at any time, and especially so if using creatine, first because of the fact they do nothing, and second, the diruetic aspect. For the very little bit they raise your metabolism, you will go much further with a good diet protocol. There is nothing more powerful than a well constructed diet.

I found an old thread about this same question, but a different answer. Could we please revisit this topic again?

I bumped this topic for easy access:
creatine and hydroxycut at the same time

There is nothing wrong with taking creatine with any type of fat burner. There was one study that showed caffeine and creatine may fight for absorption, but many other studies have shown that this combo is perfectly fine. I have done this for years and have NEVER had a problem. I say go for it. Good luck.

I didn't realize you were asking about weight loss products. While I agree with BB1 on his take, I will add that I never saw one without pretty scary warning lables. You need to read them and if you really want to be frightened of them...ask your Dr.

Thanks for the all the replies.

Charlie, I didn't specifically ask that earlier. At first I didn't see a difference myself (until I found the other referenced thread.) I guess I'm just trying to educate myself.

Aren't we all James. Like I said I read your profile and we are similar. I'd love to take the ephedrens of the world but they scare the hell out of me. Good luck.
