I'm new at the whole fitness thing for the most part. I played football for a year and threw for my schools track team for a year but have never lost any weight (minimal)
Freshman year of High School I was up around 280 and my senior year I hit a low of 240. I didn't try to loose weight it just happened. This summer I worked as a cook and I put on weight I got back up to 255-260.
Well about 2 months ago I started lifting and running again at my college fitness center
I notice a difference in my neck and arms developing but I have not lost anything of my waist or anyplace else. I have been going up and down on the scale from 244-252.
I do 2 miles every day on the treadmill try to run 1 mile straight... do legs and arms for about 45 minutes (longer on days when I have a longer break between classes)
Another thing is I don't eat much for 2-3 days because I'm not hungry and then one day I'm hungry all day long. Especially hungry around 11 at night for some reason even after a good dinner.
I'm not out of shape it's just that I'm not where I should be in the weight area. My family has a history of heart dieses and diabetes and I realized I need to lose some weight to try and help lower my chances of getting them.
Any advice would be great thank you

Yo, Dan. Welcome to ft. Sounds like you need to get your diet straightened out. Check out the 'bodybuilders grocery list' on this board. These are the kinds of foods you need to eat. Try to eat 4-6 times a day EVERYDAY. You won't get anywhere by starving yourself. Start your day with a breakfast. Search this site for diet info (fit buddy at the bottom of the page, search 'diet' and similar topics)and compare yours. You'll see the difference and begin to notice some patterns in healthy eating habits. You want to get your metabolism fired up and feed your body good food. Turn your body into a calorie burning machine. Develop a diet and stick with it. You will see that body fat melt away. Exercise hard, eat right, drink lots of water, be consistent. Good luck.

water and food conetnet in your system. Stop weighing yourself so much and eat right. Your workouts are a little unbalanced as well.
pick a program here on FT and stick with it for 12 weeks - you will see some good results.

why do you say my workout is unbalanced?

Because you say you do arms and legs for 45 minutes, longer if you have time, and you run 2 miles.
Add some variety, work all of your bodyparts. Anything over an hour is too long. You will go into a catabolic state. believe it or not, quite often, less is more.
Look up HIIT and try that for your cardio everyother workout.
Pick a training program and try it, I think you will get better results.
