abdominals and mass building

I have recently started a mass building program that only has me lifting every other day. Is it a good idea to do cardio and abdominal work outs on my days off. I really want to gain mass in my upper body, but at the same time I want to get my abs to show through. Do these two workouts work well together or is it a bad idea to mix my mass building workouts with trying to get lean and defined??

try picking one thing to focus on, mass or fat loss.
Welcome to FT. Check out your topics on fit buddy at the bottom of the screen, put in a key word or phrase and it will pull up relevant posts.
