as I follow my exercise routine( 4 day split workout)is usually 4 sets with 16 14 12 10 reps or 14 12 12 10. Should I increase the weight with each following set (25 -30 -35) or should I decrease the weight with each set (35-30-25) and what changegain will this produce?

lower the reps higher the weight. Then change it up some times and go low to high ex 30 35 40 then 40 35 30

Pyramiding up is a good scheme. Sometimes it is good to pyramid down also, so you do your heaviest weight when you are strongest. Do both. Always warm up well first though.
