Many people here recommend a protein shake at night containing calcium caseintate, some flax oil etc.. to slow digestion of protein. In the posts I have read it also says that you want this pre-bedtime shake to be low in carbs.
What is considered low in carbs for this shake?

i have been taking the Myoplex carb sense shakes at night with a tablespoon of flax oil. I think these shakes have 8g of carbs. Being under 15g, this should be fine.
Thanks!!

There aren't any specific guidelines for low-carbs in foods due to the fact that the whole low-carb diet is a newer trend, the government has not classified what constitutes a low-carb food.

You do not need carbs pre bed meal. Keep them as low as possible, they should come from fiber. Such as flax meal, and veggies if you do an omlette for instance. A small salad would be ok.

I have cottage cheese with 3-4 strawberries. Should I cut out the strawberries because of the carbs?

In your case with the strawberries, it is a minimal amount of carbs, but it is the type of carbs. Fruit is not a good item this late...opt instead for a leafy green salad with some olive oil dressing.
