What is an acceptable amount of sodium to take in per day? I've always just looked at p/c/f. However, recently I've been taking note of the sodium content of foods and jeez I couldn't believe it. I never add salt from the table. Apparently I don't need to. Most foods are loaded. So what is considered high?

An acceptable amount of sodium is less than 2400mg per day. Prepacked foods are very high in sodium and so can be low fat, low cal, low carb foods. It's pretty difficult to stay under 2400, but it can be done if you are very careful. Hope this helps!

what are the repercussions of to much sodium?

If you drink a lot of water you will tend to flush most of your sodium out of your system.
