We have sold our house and bought a "fixer upper" condo in an effort to escape home maintainance and downsize a little. The dream is to have a base so we can get a bigger boat and travel. The boat will be a "fixer upper" too but thats another story. Life is just a freaking fixer upper.

We will have no kitchen for a while and I 've decided to cease working out for what will be about a month until the renovation is done. We painted yesterday and I'm building cabinets and its just too much to do and workout. Thought I could do it but without eating regularly I just give up. My knees and entire body in general are really pissed at me.

I'm not gonna grouse too much about working out and I'll reduce calories slightly and keep my protein up. Moving day is 1 week and I can't believe the stress. I am puffing happily away at a cigar and thats that. The movers took one look at my weight room and started laughing. They see $ signs. Its only money.

On the upside, I am not breaking up with my wife. There is no surgery on the horizon, we have a color tv and it works. Life could be worse. I would like to have this bone removed from my brain that says "don't buy it new". Get an old one and fix it up. I always do this and we usually land on our feet. My wife knows I am nuts but she always goes along. Someday we will sail into ST Thomas on a toilet of a boat and life will be great. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Sorry folks, just had to vent. All better now.

:)

Well, at least your love of "fixing-upping" means that you are a man with vision Charlie!! And in the long run, you can take the extra money that you have saved with doing things yourself and enjoy very fancy cigars and maybe a few exotic drinks with little umbrellas while you are drifting the seas of the world!!

In the mean time, there is a very expansive variety of pycotrophic medication that might help you get through your move.

Hey charlie! We bought our house five years ago and at least one room has been underconstruction since. First the basement, then the upstairs, then the bedroom, rearrange some closets, redo the bathroom, add a bathroom, redo laundry room...we keep talking about selling, but there are so many projects.... Oh well, keeps the hubby out of trouble:)

PSYCHOTROPHIC...sorry, I haven't found a drug for my spelling issues yet:surprised:

I knew that, I'm sorry Charlie, I forgot that you had quit!

Amy, ours was a 15 year project. I laid the last piece of stone on the hearth and there was nothin left to do. It was perfect....so sell it.

Muttersnapper, It would only cost $300 to get you here and home. I know you wouldn't share our protein shake so I figure another $1900 to keep you in filet mignon. Mayflower is doing most of the move for less than that but I appreciate your kind offer.

Ivan, I think sister dfly may be kin to Robin Williams. She funny. I'm still workin on that sikotrippin thing.

Mike M , murphy says it best...life's a bitch and then you die.:dumbbell::dumbbell:

DFLY411....Sorry, have to correct you on this one...I'm a therapist so I get a little anal with this stuff. Its not spelt with a "PH" but rather a "P":)

psychotro"P"ic -capable of affecting the mind: used to describe drugs that are capable of affecting the mind, for example, those used to treat psychiatric disorders
psychotropic drug: a drug capable of affecting the mind, for example, one used to treat psychiatric disorders

Hey J is that not why we became therapists so we could be anal, and let other know that they are to about things. And then be able to say we are not.:laugh::laugh:

Hec, thanks man. Same problem there as with Mutt. I couldnt afford to feed 'em. All things started off well, my carpenter started at 6 AM and when I got there my new neighbor informed me that it was a G** Da**ed condo. OOPS.

I installed those wire closet organizers and it was kind of Forrest Gump meets closet maid. I don't do metal well. Cabinets are set and ready for tops. Very sore, very tired and very broke. Elaine spends money very well.

Delts, you betcha. Count on it.

My lil bro FRYER, he's back. How da knees???

Hey, the swelling is down; in the knees I mean. Experienced my first MRI this morning.

MRI'S SUCK!!!Freaked me out a little...I meet with the doc next Wednesday. Love HMO's, man, this crap is taking forever. I am happy to tell you that I no longer have cankles, my calf and foot are back to normal size. It was kinda interesting having 25 inch calves though.

It has been since sometime in February that I worked out. Missing it, and hope to dabble back into it today.

Good luck on the move, and fixing the place up. I would be there in a heartbeat to help you out, if I could.

hey charlie.....
I was so dissapointed to read that you were sitting back having a drag on a cigar, man what went south?
You said it...lifess becoming a fixer upper, if you don't watch yourself the house and boat aren't going to be the only things that need fixing up. PUT THAT Brown time bomb down man and keep 40 minutes for yourself, even if it's just for a couple of sit-ups, press ups and perhaps a brisk walk.

Cheers

Warren, that's why it was a melt down. I have 3 more weeks till we have a kitchen and a relatively normal life. Moving is stress, not working out ia more. We got to sleep at 3 am the last 3 nights and contractors call at 7. My head was gonna explode. The hypnotist number is on the fridge. When I find the fridge again ,I'll call her and jump back in. That should be 3 weeks. It's not a permanent condition bro. I'll be baaack!!!!

Go boy, glad to hear that besides all the chaos, that you really ARE on top of it.
