Please LADIES help me.. I started working out consistently 3 months ago. So far I see results, but not where I want. I am 5'6 1/2 and a size 16, trying to reach size 6 or 8. I workout 5-6 days a week... 3 miles on the tredmill, 20 min/1.5 miles spinning... and about 30 mintues weight/strenghthing training usually leg press (200 lbs+ ..is that too much? It's comfortable for me..) with 3-5 minutes stretching in between. I would like to have a slimmer, flatter, tummy (don't we all =) )but so far no luck. The only body part that looks FAB! is my thighs! It thought the cardio would help me obtain a nice firm abs. The funny thing is I can visually see my 6-pack but it's not as defined as I want. I eat a low-carb diet with plenty of protein. I was wondering is fasting ok, while doing a fitness plan? And what other excer. or tips would you all have for me? Thank you for your help...

Uggh I am so jealous!! Clearly it's genetic because my upper body looks great and my thighs just won't FAB up, and I do many of the same things you mentioned above.

Fasting is absolutely NOT okay and will be counterproductive to your goals. As you get nearer to them your diet becomes even more important.. there are many many posts on this right now in the diet and nutrition forum.

You say you do 30 min of weight training, then say usualy legs...therin lies the problem. THis needs to be a whole body approach. You need to cut a littel cardio off, add weight training to each and every body part. DO NOT WORRY: you will not gain huge amounts of muscle! Just add that and you are sure to see some results. Also what is your diet? and as datdanigirl says fasting while exerciseing will only lead to serious problems! Good luck!:dumbbell:

Thanks! I will add my arms, back, and chest too! I just didn't want to have a "manly built" chest :dumbbell:. I like mines now. lol My diet usually consist of: Break., Low-Carb Rice Ceral with Skim Milk, and some fruit... No snacks unless its popcorn... For lunch.. some albacore and a big green salad with vingerette... and maybe grilled chicken or steak, carrots, and squash for dinner. I drink water or 100% juice. And that's about it. Ok, no fasting - got it. :) Thanks

To shape the body you'll need a full body work out. Don't worry, you'll not end up looking like a man. Muscles are very hard to build and especially for us women.
Good luck!

Cardio will help you lose weight all over, not necessarily in the ab region. The saying on this site seems to be tht abs are created in the kitchen. Diet is key. Until your bodyfat is low enough you wont see those cut abs. And when losing fat you cant make it go from one place more that another. It will go from wherever it wants. Unfortunately the stomach area seems to be one of the last places to give up the fat.
