This is almost completely opposite from all of the other questions on this section, but here it goes: I've been lifting for about a year and i started using the program from this site about 2 months ago. I am very pleased with the muscle that i have gained. The only problem is that i want to get bigger, however when i gain muscle i just get stronger but my size stays the same. Also just for background info, i take after my dad A LOT and his side of the family has REALLY high metabolism, i've tried to eat a lot but it doesn't work. Is there any certain foods that will make me gain weight better or is there another option that i haven't found yet?

Appreciate the Help
Tim

DUDE!!!...IT TAKES TIME!!! More than a year. If it means that much to you, measure yourself(arms chest legs, etc...)every couple of months. I think you should see some results with continuous training. Up your calories if need be.

agamble, how much would those weight gainer mrp's cost? jdelts, i know it takes time, but i figured after a year i'd see some bigger results. Don't get me wrong, i'm very happy with the muscular results i'm getting, it's just that i wanna thicken up a little, cause i'm a pretty skinny guy.

Thanks for the help
Tim

What type of workout are you doing? It is quite possible to get stronger without getting bigger. If you do low reps and high weight consistently, your fast twitch fibers will adapt, and get stronger, but not neccesarily bigger. In this case you are neglecting half of your muscle fibers, thus a huge amount of growth potential. This is just one thought that comes to mind, the other of course is all about diet. You don't grow in the gym, you grow at rest and nutrition determines the amount of gains you make from your time in the gym.:dumbbell::)

My bad. I kind of jumped the gun. I supposed that he wanted to overcome the high metabolism thing. I have been working out steadily for about a year myself and I am not much bigger than when I started MUSCLE WISE. However, I have dropped alot of fat and I am pretty lean. I've still got a little gut (I'm about 11% bf right now) but I am extremely satisfied with my progress. My goals are a lot different than alot of people on this board. And BTW I'm on track with my goals. Check this out, because this is gospel truth-If you want to gain you are going to have to eat alot. Insane amounts of good food. No junk. That's a fact! That is going to require you to dedicate and persevere. Man, I wish you the best and hope you achieve your goals.

bb1fit: When I work out I do four sets of each exercise. The first 3 are a moderate workout, and then for the last set I put almost everything I've got into it to get as much up with correct form as possible. Are there any certain types of nutrition that you would recommend over others for me to gain weight?

agamble: Thanks for tryin to help by suggesting the weight gainers, but I'm tryin to keep it natural foods only. As far as eating an insane amount of food, I don't know if I can, I've never been the kinda guy who can just sit there and eat, I get sick if I do. But I'm willing to try it if it works. And thanks a lot for your support, I'll definitely remember it when I'm lifting.
