LISTEN TO THIS:
my mom went to a dietician for my brother because myu father said he doesnt want him to be fat because of young diabetis. my brother is 8 years old and he is not abese he is "full" not obese. i was fatter than that at his age. i told my father not to worry that he is too young for diets and he needs that fat to growth healthy. to sum up, my mom as the dietician about my way of life: i.e. that i am in bodybuilding and i eat a lot of protein. SO THE DOCTOR SAID: "HOW MUCH PROTEIN? WHAT DOES HE EAT AT BREAKFAST?" MY MOM: "4 EGG WHITE" DOCTOR: "4 EGG WHITES? TAHT´S TOO MUCH, HIS BODY WONT HANDLE THE PRESSURE..." since this event i have got some problems woth my dad about my diet so i do everything hidden. fortunately my mom (who really support me), said 4 egg whites and not 8. |

You know, this is the first time I really read this post. Who is this guy that wrote this stuff??? "The precise for these differences have not yet been determined?????" Who is he kidding, we know exactly the reasons! Can you say bodybuilding 101!!

A higher protein diet will help you lose weight for a few reasons - protein costs more for your body to break down (it has a higher thermogenic effect) and when your body has to utilize protein for energy, it has to work harder, also. So, two ways right there... Who is lean? bodybuilders... and what do they eat? Lean protein, usually 1g/lb of bodyweight or more, complex carbs, fibrous carbs and good fats....

NO!!!
thats old school. you need one gram of protein per body weight. if you could only absorb 20g of prot every 4 hours, i dont know how you will be able to take your daily protein intake. |

Your body will use whatever amount of protein it needs! If it needs one gram, it will use one gram. If it needs 50 gr., it will use 50 gr. if available, if it is not available, only one other place to get it from...the muscles. This is why you must, repeat must keep an adequate intake of protein. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

davem, I'm hitting some of the same problems. According to the website I"m supposed to be eating a lot more calories, protein, and even carbs than I have been. I have been keeping track of weight watchers points for the last few years (I'm not one of the group. I cheated and got a cookbook and went from there) and according to the points I'm about medium to high. The only time I start losing weight is when I am low, or working out everyday for a couple hours.
I also want to know what to do to increase protien other than veggies. My husband tries to build muscle (he's a stick lucky thing), but he's alergic to a lot of veggies. What else can we do that doesn't have a lot of fat in it? Cooking separate meals isn't so exciting to me everyday. |

Eggs, lean beef, turkey, tuna, salmon, lean ham, chicken, milk.. there's a lot of sources of high protein amounts other than veggies.

When you get the protein thing figured out, check out my articles on working out with no weights. I worked hard on them and was wondering if anyone reading this could look over my articles. If you like them, feel free to share it with your friends/networks. The websites are below. Anything helps, especially telling other people about it. Since i had the gastric bypass i have to have more protein in my diet. or my hair falls out.
============ Quoting from SRZrasoul: Im a pre-med student and just recently I've been learning more and more about nutrition. About protein intake the 'normal' male/female needs only 0.8 grams of protein per KG of body weight (not lbs). And if you exercise that need is elevated but not as high as people think. I would recommend 1 gram of protein per KG of body weight. Excessive protein can be very harmful. Out of carbs, fats, and proteins, protein is the only macronutrient that contains Nitrogen in its chemical build up, and for that reason is damaging to the body. After protein metabolism u have Ammonia created which is very toxic to the body and very soluble. Ur kdineys and liver work to convert that ammonia to urea which is then excreted. So excessive protein intake makes ur liver and kidneys work harder and take more damage. Too much animal protein can lead to atherosclerosis, bone mineral loss, kidney & liver problems, and increased cardio vascular disease. And if u take more protein than you really need ur also wasting your $. One thing you can do, since we all love protein, drink lots of water. The more dilute the urine the better for ur kidneys. But be careful not to drink too much water cause u can get rid of ur water soluble vitamins and can put u at risk of developing a deficincy for the vitamins.:surprised: ============= |
