I have read a lot of the posts related to calorie intake. I am in a unique spot....literally. I am deployed in Macedonia with NATO for 4 more months. I have been working out seriously for a month now. My goal is to lose another 20 pounds and lose my belly fat. Im 38, 5'-11" and 210. I've lost 20 pounds since I deployed in Jan - mostly from working 12 hour days 7 days a week. The kicker is the food is inedible and the only thing available is micorwaveable food in limited supply. That means major carbs. In order to keep the carbs down, the associated calories are only 1200 or so. I can't eat 2500 calories without going off the map with carbs. Should I supplelemnt with a power bar or something like that? The only really healthy thing I get is a skinless chicken breasts, tuna, bananas, oranges and apples. Everything else is Easymac or ravioli or spaghetti! I'm willing to eat chicken and tuna 24/7 for the next 4 months if that is what it takes. I'm working out 5 days a week - low weight - hi reps, abs with each workout and at least 25 min on an eliptical x-trainer.....I know I've rambled here, but I don't want to waste the next 4 months getting ready to go home-I wnat to surprise my wife big-time!
Go for the chicken and tuna with the fruit! Can you get care packages from home? If you can, maybe see if a friend would be willing to p/u and mail you some non parishable protien bars/low carb alternatives.
-------------- Love me as I am . . .
Let me worry about how I look!
