A NSAID will do more to "dull" the pain. This is more the reason that it helps her, not the thinning of the blood. The problem here is it may mask any incurring symptoms, and then when the problem does happen, it is big due to not being treated because there were no symptoms. Mainly because their primary action is to relieve inflammation that can lead to pain ("pressure"). That is why they are used. However, when you choose to use an NSAID, you pay for the decreased pain by slowing healing of injured tissue that may result as I stated above without you knowing it till too late. The use of these are common with runners though, usually long distance runners though.
