Hi,
I just found this site last night (well a few hours ago). But anyway I had my daughter about 3 years ago and ever since then it seems that i have been packing on the lbs. I have to admit i don't eat very properly i eat but not the right things to eat. I noticed that i needed to loose weight when i tiped the scale at more then what i weighed the day before i had my daughter 3 years ago.
I have been trying to put together a excercise plan that my daughter can kinda do with me since i am a stay at home mom. She is always on the go and so it might actually help her sleep also. lol
I am trying to eat better and taking a multi-vitamin and starting the excercise program that the fitness plan suggested. Since i don't have access to a gym or the money for a sitter while i go i am doing stuff at home.
Well thank you for having the site i am sure i will succeed with support from people who know what they are doing and can give support also.

Welcome to the site Catherine... the first step would be to get that diet correct... ask as many questions as you want regarding it... do a search on Fit Buddy (at the bottom of the page) and follow the nutrition guidlines in your profile...
Follow the fitness plans too and you'll reach your goals!

Hi Catherine! welcome to FT!
There are some videos out called Mommy and me or somthing thatare exercises you can do with your kids - I found them at the library, you might check into that.
I used to do aerobic videos early in the morning before my daughter woke up. of course, she was on to the scheme and adjusted her wake-up time so that I couldn't do that anymore. I decided she would have to sit on the couch and have a snack while i did aerobics - believe it or not, toddlers do understnad the concept of Mom needing time to do things for herself. Most of the time she was perfectly content to watch, sometimes she would 'join' me, but it gets a little nerve-wracking/dangerous when they get underfoot while you are moving rapidly. If you can designate a small rug or area that is their 'exercise' space so that they stay out from under you, they can work out. My daughter really liked the col-down stretching, especially when I let her flop on me once i was on the floor.
The fun part of involving your child in your workouts is that it makes a lasting impression. I looked out my kitchen window one day and saw my daughter leading her two litle friends (all about 5 years old) in lunges (well, sort of) and semi-jumping jacks. I smiled and asked her later what they were doing "Exercising!' was the enthusiastic answer.
My daughter will be nine in may and she and I do yoga together, she likes to come down and do little weights when I am weight-lifting (or just cheerlead me through my last few reps). She is in acrobatics, soccer, hmong dance and loves to hold family pose-downs. It is very cool to feel like i have positively influenced my daughter this way.
She never held it against me that i was firm about her staying on the couch while i exercised. It made me a more patient mother.
Another way to get some exercise in is go to the park with your daughter and do everything she does - swing, climb, hang, run. Kids really know how to workout!
And Timday is right, until you get the diet part tuned in, you won't see great results from your efforts. You may get stronger, have more energy and feel a lot better, but to get rid of fat you will need to pay attention to what and when you eat.
Good luck!

I am a very big starch-a-holic!!! I have already cut that out. Except for the occasional sandwhich which i have bought wheat bread for that. I think my worst problem is that we are on a limited budget and can't always afford to go grocery shopping. So we buy alot of cheaper things that aren't always the best for you. I have started with salads and lots of veggies. so hopefully i can get that right soon.
