Hello all!

Back in august 2003, i tore the ligaments in my ankle quite badly and was laid out without exercise for 8 months. During this time my girlfriend gave birth to our lovely baby boy.

During the 8 month period i had put a Fair bit of weight on, i gained weight quite rapidly and now have stretch marks all over my body. It's depressing to say the least. I am a big football fanatic and love playing it daily with my friends.

My target is to try get to a healthier weight and get my fitness up to a good standard.

I am 6'2(189cm) tall, and weight approx 266lbs. I am worried by my size and want your suggestions and help if possible on what weight i should target for myself.

thanks everyone.

Just read this post, and saw that you put 180 - 200lbs for a healthy weight @ 6'2" yogi. My hubby weighs 275lbs and is the same height. Just wanted to point out that based on bone size and amount of muscle, the numbers can vary a lot.

If you have your body fat persentage, you can figure out what your lean muscle mass is and go from there. If you already have quite a bit of muscle your goal weight may be more than someone who doesnt want a lot of muscle. Although I cant think of a good reason not to want lots of muscle  Try using the fitness calculators here on FT and get started planning a diet and exercise program for yourself. Just reading through the posts on this site will give you all the info you need. Good luck.
