Hi everyone I finally decided to give this a try. I made it to the point that now I have been exercising every single morning for 40 minutes in the elliptical machine for a whole month, that makes me happy. I have only lost 3lbs though :o( I'm even taking vitamins now that my diet totally change. What am I doing wrong? Maybe more exercise a day? Thanks!

Welcome to FT, leydi.

I would up your caridio by 5-10 min. Try riding a bike, walking, or swimming, your body can conform to a routine try to change it up a little sometimes. I would also recommend HIIT cardio.
i am not a expert but I know that I was doing a elliptical for over a month 4-6x a week at varied times between 30-60 min each day and i did not see any results so now i am using the treadmill it seems to be working better.
Everyones body is different and that is why changing your routine helps you find what works for you.
I hope this helps it helped me. Good Luck.

I would recommend a day off a week, your body needs time to recover after exercise

And, for the burning question, what about your weight training? Much more important than cardio. Always remember that more muscle burns more fat 24/7. Cardio temporarily boosts your metabolism. And, try not getting caught up with the weight scale #, use the mirror and how your clothes fit. Give it more time, and make sure your diet is on track. Good luck.

Thank you so much, but will weight training only 3 times a week as indicated here in the program work or should it be more? My schedule starts next week. I need to lose 30 pounds so I can weight 120 according to the healthy standard for women who are 5'1. I just get a bit frustrated, but I see in here from all the messages I've read in other topics that I'm not the only one. Thank you!

By adding free weights to your routine, It will speed up your metabolism, and therefore help burn more calories.
You will also get more definition. 3 x per week is sufficeint as you don't want to over do it.

Once you start lifting weights and getting some muscle you may find that you like the way your body looks way before you get down to 120. Dont get on the scales unless you have to. Its better to get a tape measure and once a month take all of your measurements, write them down and then dont think about it until the next month. Your clothes may get loose without you really losing any weight once you start trading fat for muscle. Also dont forget that a good nutrition plan is a must in getting the body you want. Good luck.
