Call me a naive 19 year old but, what is so bad about Pop Tarts? I mean I'm sitting here lookin at the label...200 Cal, 37g carbs, 1g sat fat, 5 g fat...
I mean certianly there are healthier things out there but?...I dunno...I just like em...and theyre cheap, a plus for any college student...
Is is because they have "empty" calories? I mean like because you could be getting much more protein and such for takin in so many calories?

It is hard to understand Pop Tart bashing, they are such a friendly, happy food.
I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the basic argument against the PT, is that it is mostly simple carbs, not complex or fiberous. Take a look at the list of ingredients and see what it says make up those 200 calories. And is that 200 calories per PT? I don't have a box here or I would do it for you.
I'm not ashamed to say that I love Pop Tarts and I miss them, especially the cherry ones with frosting and then a little butter. While a serving of cottage cheese is certainly festive in it's own way, it just can't compare to a piping hot Pop Tart.

FYI - take a look at the sugar content - there is the killer! They are yummy though!

ha ha...ok, here goes. Naive 19 year old! J/K. It is the sugar. Not sure if P/T's have partially hydrogenated killers or not, but the High Fructose Corn Syrup is not good for you. They do not fill you up, and the convenience factor is the biggest excuse, and it is also the worst. Ask all of the people in line to inject themselves full of egg mcbreakfast. "It's convenient."

CrystalBelle I'm with you.. where' the wink!?!
I'll also bet that the fact you ate anything in the morning is what helped you.. so many people skip breakfast and then you're behind on energy all day and end up eating worse.
