hi im a 23 yr old mother of two and this is my first time in the message boards...i do exercises and have an elliptical trainer i run on for 20 minutes a day...i was wondering...whats my optimum heart rate...when i used to have time to go to the gym there was a poster and i think the aerobic heart burning rate was 180bpm..... anyone know or have a clue thanks kittle
Hi and welcome to tyhe boards. Finally made that 1st post!
Formula for the HR is the following:
220minus your age. Then take 85% of whatever that is.
For you at 85% =167.
Warm up first then keep it their for at least 10-20 min and then do a cool down.

thanks alot! i have worked up to running 4 miles a day, in twenty minutes, five days a week on my elliptical trainer and have stuck to it for two weeks now will this make a difference? i eat moderately healthy and proly dont take in more than 1,300 to 1,400 calories a day.....will the exercise help me maintain my weight and size or help me lose?
