Welcome to ft! I remember, years ago, when I may have asked that very same question.
The thing I learned is that you can't just work your thighs to thin them. If that's the only place you have excess fat, it just happens to be the first place *your* body stores it.
In order to reduce fat from ANYWHERE on your body, you have to work the WHOLE body, and watch your diet very carefully.
Use a nutritional calculator (there's one on here) to determine your daily caloric intake, and stick to it with the appropriate balance of protein/carbs/fat.. eating about 5 times a day.
Resistance training is key - build muscles, they burn calories much faster than aerobics. If you are just starting out, get a basic upper body workout and lower body workout, and do them each twice a week with a day of rest between.
IF you go to the Fitness Resources above, there are lots of exercises described in detail with pics/videos and everything to show you how to do them.
Just don't get stuck thinking you should exercise your thighs because that's where the fat is.. do lunges, squats and leg presses one day, and upright rows, lateral raises, and dumb bell presses another day for example. Burn the calories over all so the fat will come off from wherever it's stored!
Good luck
