I am going to the Beach next weekend and I am still not real happy with the way I look in my trunks. I have lost some fat around the belly but still have a little love handle and I am not sure how to loose it or if I even can. I can see the upper abs, but fron the belly it still looks awful. You know were your belt line is. Yea that little pouch is pissing me off. The trainer I was with told me it is genetics and it is the hardest area of the abs to loose fat from.
I need some advise on what to do to get rid of the access tire before the summer gets here. I am desperate to get the flat belly back. Not necessarily looking for the "6 pack", but I do want my flat belly back. |

I think you have to cut your body fat % enjmn. And although it may not come off exactly where you wish it to at first, (spot reducing is wishful thinking) it can indeed come off. Did your trainer provide you with a nutritional plan? Sounds like diet may be the key. Hope this helps :)

Yea between 2000 to 2250 cal. per day. He had me cut out all frieds and sugars basically. If you have read my profile I have lost 30lbs and I can see a huge difference. I am not real sure what you mean by spot reducing? What else should I do with my diet?

enjcmn, i have the same problem, i just can't seem to get rid of the last bit of fat right there. i have a really clean diet but it just won't go away. it's the most frustrating thing in the world isn't it?
recently i cut back on dairy, quit drinking beer (much to my dismay,) and really cut back on processed foods to lower my sodium intake. that was keeping me a little on the puffy side. i've dropped another 4lbs from trying this and some of it has actually been from the stomach area. the other part of this is that i'm really focused on adding lean mass so i'll have more fat burning tissue to help me get to where i want to be. i also cut my ab work down to 3 days a week so i can keep my muscles from making the fat that is still over them look like a huge gut. anyway, i've had a little luck with trying this. i know how much it sucks to have come so far with the weight loss and still not see the one result you've been looking for. keep up the hard work though, it will come! -------------- success comes before work only in the dictionary. that's right. |

Have you tried BCAA's?-------------- Would it be classified as overly competitive if I refused to let a 4 year old beat me at chutes and ladders? |

oh yeah, bcaas, forgot about those. i've been taking HMB which is actually a metabolite of the bcaa leucine, and that has helped me out a lot too. i actually credit it with allowing me to build muscle/strength and lose fat at the same time. anywho, i use the optimum nutrition brand, they're 1000mg caps, and i take 3 a day. i think buying straight up bcaas might be cheaper, but i like the extra effects of the hmb. -------------- success comes before work only in the dictionary. that's right. |

I hear you on the Beer part. I started drinking Mic Ultra. But I don't drink alot. Maybe more on the weekends out on the lake. I love to wakeboard and it isn't as bad hitting the water when your a little inebriated. Doesn't sting as bad, plus I tend to be a bit more ballsy when I have had a few. But seriously, thank you for the advise. You truly are a gift to this site. I have been a member since 2002 and recently started chating again, mainly because of you. It is nice to know another Texan. But I will try to cut back on the drinking it really is my weakness. Everything else is looking good though. I have seen much improvement in my chest, arms, shoulders, legs and back. It is just this pesty stomach.
Thanks  |

enjcmn, i think that's the sweetest thing i've ever heard. i'm really glad you got back on the boards because you're great to have around! us texans have gotta stick together:)
oh and i think you can let yourself have a beer or two before wakeboarding. like baby said, you look great already and if it's going to take the sting out of hitting the water i think it's worth the sacrifice. i still drink dos xx at baseball games every now and again and i don't even have a good excuse, just no will power... -------------- success comes before work only in the dictionary. that's right. |
