What kind of morning routine do you all have? I don't mean workouts only, I mean what do you do to start the day? What kind of routine do you do from the time you wake up in the morning, to the time you leave for work or school or whatever?
I love asking little slice of life questions like this:laugh:!! |

Roll outta bed at 6:00... turn on the PC... start the coffee.... head to the shower.... get out... prep for work on the PC... wake up my wife... sorta help her deal with the kids... finish prepping for work.. have some breakfast... help my wife deal with the kids.. fire 'em out the door...(well, okay, I let 'em walk out on there own steam)... sit and chat with my wife... then around 8:30 I head into work... somewhere in amongst all that I get dressed, brush my teeth, drink the coffee I made and read some email...

Get up again at 7:45, shower, dress, blowdry, grab gym bag and food from fridge, leave by 8:15, put some eyeliner and lipstick on at the traffic light, at work by 8:30. Make oatmeal, fill water bottle, and sit at computer on conference calls all.. day.. long. |

I am up at 4:15 a.m., eat a few times, then I workout (weight training) at 5:30, done in about 45 minutes, go home, eat a lot more, take shower, nap for about an hour, then, the day starts.

Up by 9 AM without fail. Coffee and a shake in the cockpit of the boat. George and Donald usually call each AM for consultation on troop deployment. I am usually too sleepy to lift in the AM so I make my wife do it. Into work by 11 and then home by 2:30 so I can do my own workout. Then Bruce and I will lay down a few tracks. By then its 5 oclock somewhere and you know what that means. Ted calls around six so I can help him edit the Nightline stuff in plenty of time for the show.

Charlie you are the funniest person I have ever not met.
My morning (when I am on routine) is as follows: Up at 5:30, head straight downstairs and turn on sportscenter. Cook and eat breakfast (with remote in hand). Watch sportscenter till about 6:15. Shit, shower, shave. Wake wife up at 6:30 or so, escort her downstairs since she is physically uncapable (is that a word?) of walking without coffee. Get meals and workout clothes for the day loaded into the gym bag. Off to work by 7:00am -------------- Would it be classified as overly competitive if I refused to let a 4 year old beat me at chutes and ladders? |

Up at 6:00am, grab some coffee, let the dogs out, prepare kids breakfast, get his lunch ready, eat while I'm doing that, get my food ready for the day, wake the kid up, shower blah blah blah(that would be singing and the usual brush brush rinse rinse comb comb pat pat). Make sure the kid is ready for school, go over any last minute school crap, let the dogs in, lock up, take the kid to school, and head to work before 8...Crap, naked again, no wonder people always look at me funny.

Up when husband wakes me....walk straight into the wall if he doesn't stand between it and the bed....get coffee....check email....get coffee....greet the little sleepy heads as they come downstairs....get coffee....get boys fed and off to school....go pee....get coffee....start on work stuff....go pee....get coffee....get ready for work....go pee....then it's off to make people feel and look beautiful.
I love my husband, my coffee, and my job. |

Up at 4:45am (although clock reads 5:05 - I know I set it ahead, but I still think this will fool me in to hussling my butt out the door quicker)....... Shower first thing, shave legs if it's gym night, thus requiring me to open eyes sooner than on rest days.... Then, attempt to put make up on puffy eyes, trying not to grimace at self ..... Look in on sleeping 3 year old. Smile and head downstairs.....Radio on.....Make coffee and breakfast...put dishes away from night before....eat and read MacLeans magazine.....head back upstairs...do hair, get dressed and wake up the little princess. Head back downstairs with her and cuddle on the couch until time to go. Bring coffee to work with me....Arrive 5 minutes late for work. (setting the clock ahead really doesn't work)

715: Alarm goes off...of course i don't hear it because i'm dead tired from my f***ing roommate playing video games the whole night before while i was TRYING to sleep
(each 7 minutes after 715) Hit snooze button to piss off roommate for pissing me off. 815: Actually get out of bed and curse the day the roommate's mother and father decided it would be a 'smart idea' to procreate. *******After this point, this is all if i actually woke up at 815******** 820: Shower (shave from toe to neck if its a rest day...if its a workout day...the SOBs can piss off cause i'm not there to look pretty...and shaving every day sucks) 845: Walk to class... 1000: Go get food from dining hall and head back to room...browse FT, Email, Ehowa, Collegehumor.com, and other various crap to see if i can laugh before i head to my next class ******If i didn't wake up at 815****** Go to my second or third class depending on how late i woke up or how important the classes were that day. Listen to my roommate b**** at me for letting my alarm go and how he hates my music (i'm sorry, i just don't like hearing NCAA football constantly from 3am-5am especially when this is your 40th year in your dynasty with you waking me up every 15 minutes to show me what awesome play you did because your team hasn't been beaten in the past 39 years because you have no damned life...so you can piss off whilst i play some of my music. And no, im not going to turn Lynyrd Skynyrd down any further because i won't be able to hear it.) Then the rest of the day... |

Up at 6 am (though really 5:45, I set clock ahead too). Stumble over dog to bathroom. Pour cup of coffee waiting for me(love the automatic turn on). Wake up troops for school(kids). Drink coffe and smoke a few while choreographing kids ready for shcool. Kids out at 7:30 am. Eat something, Do alittle computer work, shower, and head to gym or track depending on the day. Usually back home by 10am or go to work. Days I don't work, head home to do my wifely duties: shopping, cleaning, laundry, you know the deal. Pretty basic for a mom I guess. Except on days where we have radio events for the morning show, then Im out the door around 4am, and sitter handles the kid stuff. Hubby is gone by 5am every morning.

I get up as soon as the soon goes down. I make my coffin up, then I go and make me a pot of bloody mary, take a shower, find my favorite black cape, drink a couple cups of bloody marys before I am off. I start the ole' cape up and out the window I go to work.

OK, now that I finally have a few minutes to sit and type, here's a little slice of my AM.
If it's a weekday I'm up for work by 1:45am. I change into my workout clothes while drinking my protine shake and brewing my coffee (MMMMMM coooffeeeee). Then I do a moderate work out on the elliptical machine for 30 min. while watching the Seinfeld I taped the night b4 or whatever is good on Comedy Central. After the workout I must feed the starving kitty lest she pass out from lack of food (at least that is her version of it:laugh:) and wash my face. I shower at night to give me time to fit in a workout in the morning. I dress, put on makeup and jewelery and fix a quick breakfast of either egg whites or a smoothie; pack my food and reading material for the day and head to work by 3:15am. I get to work at 3:45am and head straight to the newsroom to prep for the 5am show. If it's my day off or it's a weekend and I work in the afternoon/night then I'll sleep in 'till 9am-ish. When I do get up I make coffee, turn on the computer and have a lite breakfast of fruit & cottage cheese or toast and peanut butter. If it is my day off I'll try to get some domestic duites done like washing dishes, laundry, change sheets, vaccuum, etc. I'll workout in the late morning and afternoon. If I have to work in the afternoon, then I'll go to the gym by 11am for a weights only workout and come home to get ready for work. |

Holy crap.. I re read my post and I may have misdirected you here. George and Donald are the two old gay drunks on the houseboat next door. They play Risk. Bruce owns the local slot car racing place. I help him when he adds to the layout. Ted writes an column for my favorite newsrag "Creative Loafing" . He's kind of a personal hero and role model.
Hope this straightens things out. -------------- Foolish consistancies are the hobgoblins of small minds. Charlie | |

Up at 05:15 (04:45 if I have to be at work for 07:00), sneak downstairs, start morning news (put it on pause - I love PVR's!!!), go get first coffee from pot (I'm, with parko3, love automatic timers), watch TV news/ sports for 1/2 hour, go wake up dog, drag him out the door for his walk. Get home, wake up wife for work if she is not up yet, grab work stuff/gym stuff/ food for at least 3 meals, 6 if going away overnight (I do that alot), go to work, work-out, shower, start work.

Setting the clock ahead...I should try that...
If all goes well, I am up at 5:02 (I had to lie in bed for about 2 extra minutes pondering why again am I doing this?) and I've got my shoes on before I put on my workout shorts. Oops. Ok, we'll just call it getting dressed. Then make the bed, brush the teeth, feed the cats, grab the purse, iPod, and a bottle of Propel and vroom! I'm off to the gym. I attempt this every weekday morning, Mon Wed & Fri I do cardio and weights, and Tues Thurs I do lots of cardio. I'm still working at getting this all down pat though. lol I'm only a teenager, after all. :) |
