For those of you who are boxing fans, last night was one of the sadder nights in boxing history. One of my idols of the squared circle lost his championship and basically his career. I'm talking about my all-time favorite Roy Jones Jr. The bout made me sick. I just had to vent this one out to yous guys.-------------- My diet sucks and so do my Mets Jdelts@freetrainers.com |

One punch.....it is odd. Even the best can fall from the right punch. I kind of wondered about their first fight....I thought it was very close.-------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

You're right...it was too close the last time. I'd been worried the whole time leading up to this fight. Same thing happened with Lennox Lewis, only I enjoyed watching him go down. Not many great fighters left. -------------- My diet sucks and so do my Mets Jdelts@freetrainers.com |

rematch? A one punch win is never really a true win..not unless its blatantly obvious the other could knock its opponent anytime he wishes. I thought Roy was invincible, then so was tyson, ali and even naseem :)

A one punch win is not a true win if it was the first fight. This was the second fight, and Roy Jones arguably lost the first one. I dont think he should have a remtach.-------------- Would it be classified as overly competitive if I refused to let a 4 year old beat me at chutes and ladders? |

You say that there are very few good fighters left but I say Tyson was never a good fighter. He brought a bad name to the greats like Ali.-------------- Peace Out! -Pudge |

It is sad, but I really have to say that the man had it coming. All fighters will eventually fall in the ring. "Live by the sword, die by the sword."
He was in every aspect a Champion fighter. He was the best for a long time and who knows, "arguably" one of the greatest of all-time. I know I wouldn't fight him. |

HOW IN GOD"S NAME CAN YOU SAY TYSON WAS NEVER A GOOD FIGHTER?!!!!! The man's character and morals had NOTHING to do with his fighting ability. Sorry Pudge, I don't mean to yell, but I just flat out don't agree with you.-------------- My diet sucks and so do my Mets Jdelts@freetrainers.com |

Tyson in his prime was a great fighter. Watch his two fights against Razor Ruddock. -------------- Would it be classified as overly competitive if I refused to let a 4 year old beat me at chutes and ladders? |

No offense taken with the yelling but if you call biting off someone's ear fighting then boxing has seriously changed.-------------- Peace Out! -Pudge |

I'm not going to argue any further on this one pudge...look at the other 40 fights he had before that incident. In his prime, he was a great fighter...there is no arguing that. If you want to bring up irrelevant points that only have to do with character, then we'll argue about whether or not he was a good guy(obviously he was a piece of crap as a person, but one of the most dangerous, feared fighters in the world).

I think you may want to reconsider using the word great to desrcibe this list of fighters. I think some of them may be described as solid. How is Trinidad great? He is hiding in Puerto Rico, waiting for Hopkins to hang them up. John Ruiz is great? Vitali Klitshcko is great? The sport of boxing is near death. -------------- Would it be classified as overly competitive if I refused to let a 4 year old beat me at chutes and ladders? |

They are average fighters in a dead era. They are so far from great it isn't even funny. I ain't schilling out 50.00 to watch any of these deadbeats fight. I would rather watch "great" fighters on ESPN classic. Boxing is dead my friend, and the only thing that will bring it back is a great, young heavyweight.-------------- Would it be classified as overly competitive if I refused to let a 4 year old beat me at chutes and ladders? |

lol na. My mum thoughta bout it but just went with Marvin instead :)
BTW, anyone think Roy Jones vs Mike Tyson still gonna happen? Thats a fight id like to see. Tyson maybe worn out compared to his prime but I think hes still the 2nd best boxer right now after lewis. Id also like to see Audley Harrison fight some serious opponent..tyson maybe? |

Roy jones vs. Mike tyson wont happen...Mike stated himself that in order for him to fight roy he will have to gain some credibility back and tyson said he could ko tarver in 1 and talks have begun for a tarver vs. tyson fight........Tyson is overrated these days he is about 15 years past his prime, people need to stop thinking he has the skills he once had....Sure he is entertaining at time because of the "whats next" drama, but ehhh who cares anyway......It's all about the middleweight division at the moment
Jermain Taylor Felix Sturm Bernard Hopkins Oscar de la hoya Felix Trinidad Is the only names that excite me at the moment all in big matches :) |
