Made this in the crockpot today - really tasty over rice!
2 lbs beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 cup water
1/2 c dry white wine or japanese sake
1/4 c sugar (I used splenda)
1/4 c soy sauce
1 tsp salt
4 medium carrots, sliced on the bias
3 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 white onion, chopped
Combine all ingredients in crock pot, cover and cook on low 10-12 hours or high 4-6 hours. Stir well before serving. Makes 6 servings. Really good over rice!
