Well, I am in between shows. I competed in 2 classes this morning, right after my second round they called me in for a drug test! This has to be a good sign, they don't bother testing people not in the running!
I thought I hit my poses well, am excited about the possiblities of a first place!! I will post results after I go pig out tonight at Red Lobster!! Thanks to all for the well wishes.....:dumbbell::big_smile::dumbbell::big_smile: -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

I ended up placing 4th in both classes I entered. They were admittedly tough, each had 9 competitors, and they were very strong. In fact, the guy who took first in the masters in my class I competed against in Kentucky. The judges announced before the placings that as little as 1 point separated all of us. It was that close. Not much consolation though. I was a bit shocked, as they moved me to the middle right after the first turns, and left me there. That is normally a good sign, much better than being on the end. In fact, had me and the winner side by side for the better part of the posing. Even my competitors were telling me I was at least first or second. Then when they called me in for a drug test and polygraph, I was pretty certain of a very high finish. Guess I jumped the gun a bit.
By the way, it was a very grueling posing round, the judges took an extremely long time, really made us hold our poses. We were out there for a long time. I was actually shaking on a couple of the poses holding them so long. The second class wasn't quite as bad as the masters. At least I got 2 new trophys to add to my collection, though I really had my heart set on a sword! (first place class winners got a sword on a plaque, and of course compete for the overall). I didn't really do well in my nightime posing routine, kind of lost it for some reason. It wouldn't have mattered, just a note about the evening show. I only had to pose once in the evening, you pose with your first class you entered, then if you are in the top 5 in the other class, they tell you to stay around because after they pose, you have to go out with them and get your placing/trophy. -------------- If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.... bb1fit@freetrainers.com |

Wow sounds like it was a tight race for that sword. Good job Ron! We are all proud of you.-------------- Would it be classified as overly competitive if I refused to let a 4 year old beat me at chutes and ladders? |

1 point! That is so close! At least you know it was that tight - they made that announcement.
4th is still great! Did you ask the judges what they think you should improve on? -------------- If you fall down seven times, get up eight. |

Sandy actually talked with the head judge, he just happens to smoke, as does my wife(I have tried to get her to quit, she never ever smokes around me, so it is hard). Anyway, he told her the only thing that separated me and the first place winner was my legs. Not quite as cut.

Finally, Ron got me back on, I have been having trouble signing on, Three cheers for the man who is first in my book, He did great, and When I talked to the judge he told me it was Ron's lags and that we had a year to get them in the shape that would take him to first place next year. So that's the story, Baby I love you and I am so proud of you:love: :) now get to the gym and work harder (like you don't now:)) I love you Sandy:)

I don't care how you ended up there Ron. You are the number ONE mentor here.
I don't look at who gets the first place. I look at who helps tons of people here everyday without any compensation. And I know that is you. I've known other body builders for years and none of them helped me half as much as you did help me here within a month. So, the guy came in first place; How many people is he helping everyday? |
