I don't know if this is where I want to be. I would like to quit smoking, loose some weight, and find a diet fit for me. If this is the right place, lead on. I can use all the help I can get. Hank.

For diet and smoking you want a good intake of oats. Oats fill you up and are good for the heart and all that low calorie slow carb jazz. But also it helps take the taste away from your mouth of the cigarette. I tried patches semi successfully but it wasn't till I had a stroke and crashed my car that memory loss helped me forget I was a smoker. So give up to save your life. Now finding a diet is easy. Just tweak about with what you normally eat as changeing it is a temporary fad... but improve on your life rules and choose simple instructions like 1) i will eat at least 8 different fruits/veg portions a day, 2) i will drink 2 litres water minimum per day(herbal tea but not sodas)... 3)i will eat 6 very small meals a day, 4) eat fish 3 times a week etc...

I believe in keeping a food and exercise diary too- it's here on-line and best of luck... oh and the support here does work although slow in my case since 2002 i've gone from 192 pounds to 172 pounds having put on some muscle and lost some fat- I'm in the best shape since 20 years ago.
