Hey,

I'm 17, 130 pounds, and am 5'11.5'' tall.

I am trying to build muscle and according to this website, I'm supposed to eat 2800 calories a day. I seem to have a hard time spreading the calories equally throughout the day, mostly because my mom makes dinner and I don't know what's for dinner until about 4pm.

What ends up happening is that I overstuff myself with my food and leftovers at dinner because I have not gotten my nutritional needs for the day. I don't like doing that; it feels bad and I burp for the rest of the night.

Any suggestions how to get my requirements in without feeling stuffed at the end of the day?

Why can't I just eat when I want and feel good like normal people? I seem to always have problems with food and proportions.

Any suggestions how to just eat to live and not live to eat (focus so much on food that it becomes too much of my thought life)?

Please help me out!!

Thanks!!!

You need to purchase some supplies you can just eat, like cans of tuna, chicken, even sardines. Invest in a loaf of whole grain bread, some peanut butter too. Get some veggies and it may be a good thing for you to invest in an MRP of your favorite type. All you need is a shaker cup and water and instant nutrition. I normally do not recommend candy bars(protein bars), but in your case these may be worth having on hand. Anything is better than not eating for more than 3 hrs. at a time if you are trying to build muscle. You will really have to make a concerted effort to improve your nutrition. Be resourceful, this is the only way you will make any gains you so desire.

yeh you must eat about 2 to 3 hourly even if it is say a shake or just a peice of fruit. As you need your metabolism always switched on by food. With a well stocked well planned fridge and lunches box... Eat your oats and fruit or whatever on waking up and ensure it's a good 500 calories worth. By mid day you should have managed 1800 Then there has to be another 5 meals minimum through the day plus your moms... Do your best. you will win.
