I exercise for about 30 mins 3-4 times a week, but i don't sweat a lot.

Is this good or bad?

Will i lose weight if i exercise with little or no sweat?

This issue really worries me...because i was under the impression:

You got to sweat lots to lose your fats and stay healthy.
It is not healthy if you don't sweat when you are exercising.

BTW: The only time i sweat a bucket is when i run like 3 km.

Curling dumbells, pushups, blah blah= little sweat. :(

Fill out your profile! How long have you been training for?
The longer you have been exercising the more efficient the body becomes at temperature regulation and the more easily you sweat

When I work out I do sweat, but it also depends on the exercise I am doing. With cardio (your 3 km) you can expect a lot of sweat. With your anaroebic exercises it depends on how large the muscle group is and how hard you are working it. For example when I squat heavy I sweat heavy. The reason being is that the contracture of my large leg muscles at high intensity is releasing a large amount of heat. The sweat then is released to cool that heat off. On the other hand when I do my shoulders or biceps, I may not break a sweat at all. I still am sore the next day or the one after that, and I work those muscles hard, but because of thier relative size, they can't release enough heat during contraction to require sweating for cooling. Therefore, judge you wieght workouts by your improvements, not by your sweat. For that fact, depending on the temperature in the gym there may be some days that sweat on a the aerobic machines may be hard to come by, again judge by your heart rate not your sweat.

That being said, make sure you are hydrated. If you aren't sweating because you are dehydrated you are working in dangerous territory.

some people are sweatier than others due to genetics. Have you ever been a person who sweats a lot?

I pray not to sweat a lot! I'm like a fountain when in the gym. After weights and cardio it just pours off of me. People have always said it's healthy to sweat...sure...it's just not that attractive. I've never heard a woman say, "Gee, I want to meet someone who is smart, funny, cute, and sweats a lot...because that's healthy." It's just my burden to bear.

I usually sweat during cardio and deadlifts... sometimes on squats... but not usually on the smaller muscles like shoulders and such... I don't think it's an indication of your workout at all....

You don't have to be sweating while lifting to make gains. Just because you aren't sweating, doesn't mean that you aren't working your muscles. Lifting is different from aerobic activity. You can change the way you lift and do supersets and stuff and you will start sweating too.

I don't normally sweat that much in the weight room, unless I'm doing deads or squats. I sweat like lodgey when I run though.
