US House of Representatives voted 408 to 3 to ban all prohormones bill number is (HR 3866)now it goes to the senate and to the prez for final votes and approval. So if you use PH's better stock up now because unlike ephedra there might not be a grace period. My favorite sites are to order : www.seriousnutritionsolutions.com

BigAndrew Im with you on this one... you can't rely on a bottle or a needle in order to succeed in life as you posted on another message... I have never tried any prohormone supplement and will never do... just because I like to see the results of my hard work and diet over the months / years... if you want to take a shorcut longballer, hey its your choice, and I hope that nothing bad happens to you...

BigAndrew, keep up the good work, you are an inspiration for many of us in this forum...

LOL I knew that would cause some controversy, but I respect your opinions. I was all natural not even taking a single supp other than whey protein and glutamine for the first 8 years I trained but when i looked at my muscle gains over a five year span of time i was quite depressed. Natural guys are lucky i mean very Lucky to put on 5 quality pounds of muscle per year Im sorry but im not satisfied with that. But here is the whole situation on the prohormone ban you may not agree with prohormones but yesterday while watching C-Span the senate began its hearings on prohoromones one of the first to testify was the FDA who stated they wanted to regulate the supplement industry as a WHOLE!! Not just PH's they want to regulate creatine protein and any over the counter supplements so this ban will effect you!! Maybe not now but the FDA will push to regulate and pass legislation for all supplements whether it passes or not is up to us! the fitness and bodybuilding community. Lets face it nothing takes the place of good whole foods and hardcore training, supplements are a luxury but do you still want that right to use supplements without restrictions or prescriptions?? Ask yourself that. Thats my 2 cents spend it any way you want.
PS my website was free wish i was getting paid for the popups

whey protien banned? HA your funny..it comes from milk you iddiot if they bann that then they have to bain milk. Creatine has been around for 20 plus years.......pro hormone where made for one reason.........to cheat the tests of contests buy using other "hidden" drugs that your body convert through the liver. Thats the only reason prohormones where made to cheat the system and find a loop hole. Creatine has been reasearched and researched no one balls shrink, nor does the prostate get bigger nro anything else, excpt maybe a dry mouth if you don't drink enough water. Gee what you gonna tell me now? gonna ban vitaman c pills lol.........doctors even say to excercise and take a mutlivitmen for immune system health. Never have I went to the doctor and they say......."Mr. andrew I think you need to take some prohormones, cause your not gaining enough muscle this past year"

Andrew you missed my point completely why are you so naive? I know that you are young that has alot to do with it. Im not saying the government will ban whey protein or creatine but the FDA will push, mind you they have already made the statement yesterday and numerous times before they want to control and regulate the supplement industry that does not mean they will ban whey protein or creatine or other supps but can you imagine the price increases and difficulty of availability of products. You can stand back and say oh it will never happen but you are only fooling yourself. Do yourself a favor pic of the phone or shoot an email to some different supplements companies ask them how they feel about the PH ban and how that will affect the industry, then ask them if they feel like the FDA and others will try to push for more legislation on other supps. Matter of fact go to bodybuildingcoms website do a little research yourself on their PH post see what other people, manufactuers, and supp companies have posted I think you will find yourself in the minority. You know i respect your opinions on prohormones they have their upsides as well as downsides but if you can honestly tell me the bodybuilding lifestyle is healthy Im sorry you are wrong! Yea sure for the recreational guy its very healthy but for those who compete just the 2 weeks leading into a show is very taxing on your body. So if you are a rec lifter you should be taking glutamine creatine and whey but for those folks that wanna compete in say like the NPC they dont stand a chance without some extra help other than basic supps and a good diet, most of those guys use anabolics anyway. I look at as a freedom issue if I can go out drink a fifth of liquor, smoke cigs that I know will kill me and possibly hurt someone else through drinking and driving, should I then not have the choice to take a prohormone that will enhance performance, yea there maybe be side effects but find me real documentation of thousands of people that die from taking prohormones. Thats just my 2 cents

I don't care for the sites I could care less what they have to say, of coarse a prohormone web sight will be prohormone........and honestly I wish they would ban cigs too, nothing good comes form them. Your opinion is your opinion take them if you want, but anabolics are banned for a reason, and if they could ban all of them, and no one could use them, everyone would be on equal grounds, its people like you sneaking around to take them, that make other people take them etc. the cycle goes on and on, till it filters down to lil kids who think they have to take them to look like their hero. Like I said before i'm glad of the band. Age has nothing to do with it man

1.6 percent of high school kids say they have used anabolic steroids or PH's big number there huh! Look at the epidemic of drugs alcohol and smoking among teenagers! IMO ban the PH's from those sports that allow them, make the buying age of PH's 21 and over or allow the government to run your life. By the way I dont go sneaking around using PH's they are still perfectly legal until the ban takes place senate still has to hear the bill. Oh by the way PH's are not the only thing discussed on bodybuildingcom's forums you get to chat with the people who's protein and creatine you now consume. If you dont like smoking do something about it contact your representatives let your voice be heard! I dont smoke either but I feel like its an americans right to pollute their body if they so choose thats why I eat in the non-smoking section. Narcotics are another story they affect not only the person but others around them. But this is america thats why you have the freedom to choose and believe the way you want to! Thats what makes this a great country

1.6 too much if you ask me, i rate prohomons with cigs and and other drugs. Personally if your a trully healthy person and wanna live life heathly and to the max, you should take none of the above including homones of any kind.
You might look good now, but later in life when you in your 50s and your prostat is huge and you have acne and "tits" and jaw looks liek a horse, your gonna wish you havn't. Doing any kind of hormone is like playing russian rullet, there 3 bullets and 3 open slots.......eventually you will shoot your self if you keep playing.

But you know what regardless of what side effects may come it's that persons decision and choice to use those products just like cigs and alcohol. But I challenge you to find research where one just one individual has died from using a prohormone? you wont find it! read the some news post you will see what the government is doing

I will make no comment concerning PH but just had to step up to point out what bigandrew seems to be misunderstanding. It is a fact that the FDA has stated, plainly and without reservation, that they want their powers of approval and regulation to extend to supplements, vitamins, and natural medicines (herbal remedies, etc.)

Whatever one's stance on PH use or even the legality issue, the bottom line is the FDA is using the ban on herbal ephredra, andro, and soon all PH, to get it's foot in the door to try and regulate all supplements. If you think they will not require their own testing, approval, facility inspections, and regulations for such simple things as vitamins and proven, safe products like creatine, you are sorely mistaken. And don't laugh at the idea of whey protein or other similar products being placed under their authoritative umbrella as well; the government already regulates dairy products, including milk and even has a hand in price regulation - notice the price of a gallon of milk lately?

The ban on ephedra was a social decision. A few people died while using ephedra, while millions, literally millions used it with success. If the ban was for safety, then why not ban Tylenol, which has been proven to cause liver damage and can kill if overdosed, but that is easily available anywhere to people of any age?

The ruckus about banning PH is similar. No one cared at all about this until Mark McGuire broke the HR record and people wondered about the "andro" he was taking. Then came Barry Bonds, Olympic athletes and BALCO. Because people are upset at the precious game of baseball being ruined by rampany drug use (not PH mind you, the real juice) the goverment got all up-in-arms about it and, at the time of this writing, has banned PH in congress and soon will in the senate.

Should PH be banned? Debatable. But I could care less. What I care about is that if one thinks it will all stop with ephedra and PH then you might be unpleasantly surprised in a few years time.

It is all just another case of the government sticking it's nose where it should not be and seeking to take away freedoms - for political and social reasons.

Peace.

Addendum: Here are some probable targets for the FDA after the ban on PH.

- Tribulus herbal products
- Stimulant (caffiene) fat-burners
- Thyroid stimulant products
- Amino acids; BCAA and single type, including L-Glutamine

From these sorts of things, it is only one more small step to creatine, proteins, bars, teas, and vitamin/mineral supplements.

Hopefully it will not come to this. And to some degree, I must also add that this particular ban is the PH makers fault for marketing their products as equal to or better than anabolic steroids and giving them "steroid product sounding names" and the like.

Still, it is clear that this decision is not a public health and safety one, but a social, popular, political one and one that could lead us where none of us wants to go.

I'm out --
