I was wondering what are the weight loss and toning side effects of drinking alcohol. When i drink i do shots, no beer but i usually consume a few glasses of soda or juice for chasers. Any help as to how bad this is for my toning goals are appreciated. thanks

The only weight loss side effects of alcohol are if
1. you drink so much you vomit
2. you drink so much you get liver cancer
If working out is a hobby, an occasional drink maybe once a week shouldn't hurt but if you're more serious it's a no go

supe, actually, you dont have to vomit or get liver cancer in order to have negatives from alcohol if aiming for weight loss...
Think of alcohol as "empty calories" which in turn will be stored as fat, thus, if you drink a light beer it means around 100 kcal out of your daily caloric intake that could be used in consuming proteins, carbs or healthy fats... add the juices or soda and you can easily get around 500 cals on two o three drinks
the choice is yours, as princess tells you, once in a while it should be ok, as long as it doesn't become a habit...
Hope this helps

you booze, you lose...in the mutt challenge, not off the waist. Princess is right, but she STILL won't win the mutt challenge.:laugh:

I asked a similar question and then I did some more reading and have to agree with everyone (your all so darn smart, thank goodness!) and booze should be cut altogether if seriously trying to lose weight. I found a great website that explains it in detail, hope it helps!

in addition to the health benefits, the hot chick bartender will really dig the fact that you ordered an ice water. I know I've experienced this once or twice. But then again, that was after she threw a lemon slice at me.
