Hello everyone.

Can someone please tell me what "peaking" is, and how does one avoid/cope/handle it?

Simply put, I believe that it is when the body/part becomes used to the current routine that it is being put through and therefore "decreases" in progress. In other words, it is when you are unable to lift/bench/pull as much as you're used to(with the exception of overtraining/improper diet).

This is my fist post here, so my apologies if its in the wrong board.

I wouldn't really group "peaking" with "overtraining". I have peaked before, I think, but I could do the same amount of weight as before, I just couldn't seem to get any higher. That is what I consider peaking. When you actually start to decrease in progress, I think you start getting in to overtraining, or simply not pushing yourself hard enough. Which ever one it is, regroup, get your diet in order, get your weight in order. Write stuff down. Take a couple days off, and hit the gym with your new info and go for personal bests. Good luck!
