I check out the fitness plan section at this site and I choose to to the Gain Muscle Mass Training for my workout. I don't want to gain any fat which I think it indicated that it is a possibility following this workout, but I'm not terribly worried. I can eat nothing but fastfood and Phish Food Icecream by Ben&Jerry's and not gain a pound. (But I don't ;) )
As I was checking out the weekly workout I found that I am only doing chest workout once a week. I really want to focus on my chest, shoulders, and arms (mainly my upper body) But I am only workout out those areas once or twice a week. Is this enough, or should I go off the workout in some aspecs and work out those areas more than in my workout plan? I know I have been asking a lot of questions and thank you so much to all that as helped me with my questions! |

The system is set up to work your entire body not just specific areas. Once a week should be fine if you work the muscles properly. Make sure you give your muscles time to heal and rest a little.-------------- There is no substitute for hard work |

If one just trains thier upper body, they would probably come out looking like a cartoon character. below the waist is very important. After all, our legs support the biggest part of our body right?-------------- "A will finds a way, failure is not an option" Ivan carivan@freetrainers.com Montreal Canada |

I have been riding my bike a lot lately, around 10 miles each day, and I hope that would be building my leg muscles.
Would it be too much if I did my leg exersises on the specified day and also did some chest workouts that day along with the chest specified workout day? Once a day just doesn't seem like a lot. But I know nothing about working out. Also, I want to have a good ass. Is there anything I do to workout that area? I don't have acess to a gym, but I have a bench at my house. Are there any workouts I can do on the bench or just on the ground to work out the muscles in my butt? |

Well, for the 'good ass' the bike riding will help, so will squats and things of that nature... but I wouldn't rely on your bike riding to build your legs up... you'll get a damn fine cario workout, but I don't recall seeing too many cyclists in the Tour de France with bodybuilder size legs...

in order to make yourself all round bigger, you need to work out your legs. Squats, Lunges, the works. Yes riding bikes is good for you and like Tim said, it's good cardio, but you need to put some weights on them in order to get bigger.
Also, if you know nothing about working out, be careful and make sure you do the exercises properly, otherwise you can really mess up your muscles, i spent 5 months studying body building before i even started and then I chose a friend that had been working out for over a year to help me out. I'm not saying go to the extremes of reading for 5 months but make sure you know proper techniques and what too and not too do. -------------- Workin on the Big Guns |

I just can't see working out my chest once a week will improve my Muscle Mass in my chest. I wouldn't question if it was twice or three times a week, but just once. Doesn't seem like a lot in my opinion.
What If I did the regular chest workout which is on... (Friday, I think) and then add chest workout using the same exercises that I do on Friday on another day such as on Monday or Tuesday. |

It's called patience nirvecho, have some. If you want to work the chest twice a week, go ahead. Make sure that you are not on here in a few months complaining that your chest isn't getting any bigger. Rest, along with proper nutrition = growth. -------------- Message deleted by moderator due to unsuitable content for this board. |

Heheh, I will have some patients. I sometimes think over doing something will bring faster results. I thought it was a legitmate question. I'm not impatient, I just thought that working out only once a week would keep you in shape, not increase your mass.
Thanks for your help! |
