Canned have a little more sodium and less nutrients - frozen have been shown to have the most nutrients because they are frozen before the nutrients leach out ('fresh' vegetables sit around and lose nutrients all the way to the grocery store and while they sit on the produce racks).

Digestive discomfort is usually due to a sudden increase in fiber consumption - if you gradually increase your vegetable intake, it should be less uncomfortable.
