I'm 6'1, 190. I'm no doubt a hardgainer, and apparently a hardcutter too, as I can't seem to bulk muscles or cut bodyfat. I must have resistent genetics. I know a guy who eats anything- burgers, fries, alcohol, crap and is almost 200 pounds of muscle, including a six pack, and that pisses me off. He doesn't even work that hard, meanwhile I bust my ass with no results. (Although I know he used creatine for a while.)
So, I was wondering what products there are that could safely help me bulk and cut simultaneously (I don't have too much to cut, maybe 10 pounds to showcase the abs). I have been reluctant to use creatine and other supplements other than protein cuz we don't know long term effects, but Im waging a war with resistent genetics, so I'm thinking it might be necessary to use outside factors. Are there any safe supplements that can aid me in my pursuit that I hopefully wouldn't have to use for too long? And if so, how do they work? |

** multivitamen......helps with keeping body healthy , as well as helps ummune function. *** whey protein: helps build muscles, and a easy cheap soure of protein. **** creatine: helps with engery for my workouts other ones I buy when I have a lil extra money( ususly during summer when i work more) SOme kind aof "fat burner" I like animal cuts BCAA's ( branch chain amnio acids) most other supplements are all hype, haven't taken anything great latly but those or the ones I like to take. -------------- .......adversity causes some to break, but others to break records! ......minds are not vessles to be filled, but fires to be enlightened ......Confucious once said ,DO NOT play leap frog with a unicorn |

There is no such thing as a hard gainer, there is just the person who does not have his/her diet constructed properly. It is not about supplements, they will add no mass on you. It is all about proper nutrition.

If you keep thinking like that then , maybe you will be hard gainer. Think Positive, eat a healthy balanced diet , eat lots of protein, drink lots of water. Take a protein shake and some L-glutamine. I suggest MEGA WHEY from GNC.

This simply means you have to construct your diet for a higher metabolic rate. But diet is your key, if you eat the right amount of nutrient dense and calorie dense quality foods, and are working out properly, you will gain just like anyone else. You may need 1000 calories more than someone else your bodyweight, this is not unusual. This is precisely why not one calorie range or diet will work for everyone. The basics are the same, but you need to tweak them to your needs.

I see what you're saying. So just go back and start eating more calories. No supplements necessary? WHat's your opinion on what Bigandrew suggested? I have a multivitamin and whey powder, so that's no problem. What about creatine,
some kind of "fat burner" like animal cuts and BCAA's ( branch chain amnio acids)? |

If you are looking to gain mass, why would you consider a fat burner? And BCAA's, if you are taking in whey protein, it is very high in BCAA's and trying to gain(high calories) you will most probably be getting plenty of them. BCAA's really shine when dieting, help retain lean tissue when calories are at a premium.
Creatine can be a nice boost. It works well, and is a natural substance already produced in the body. You are simply topping off stores that get lower and lower with age. ============ Quoting from froshman: I see what you're saying. So just go back and start eating more calories. Well, I'm first trying to cut some 5-10 punds of fat to lower my bodyfat to a percentage appropriate for showings abs. Are fat burners good for that or are they more designed for the obese? I've heard of Ab Fuel but don't know what the deal on it is. Ive never heard of animal cuts before.
