This dumbsh** I know seems to think he is god's gift to the bodybuilding world and would have something to teach the pros. We all know at least one individual like this, right? Anyway, he constantly tries to tell me that working out each body part (as I do) is wrong and he does the upper body one day-lower body the next-rest day...then repeat. Is this overtraining? I think it is. And are some muscles able to be trained more than once a week like the smaller groups, i.e. biceps, calves, forearms? Or should it just be once a week? Thanks for any input you diehards can supply me. God Bless America!!!!!!!!

hey merlinhog.. that's not overtraining...I did 3 months of full body routine and got about the same results as I did with the split programs. You can try any body part 3 times a week ( that's most likely the max) except for the abs which can be trained 6 times a week giving 1 day break/week. I'm pretty certain of all that because I used to ask pro's these Q's and get the followed answers.

I also trained like that for about 10 weeks when I started working out again back in February. My workouts definately weren't as intense, but they were effective for a beginner.

I have found that doing every body part twice per week can be very beneficial, especially when you're an advanced lifter. however, i also found it is more difficult to lift really truly HARD on both training sessions each week. i wouldn't recommend doing this program for too long, but it's not a bad idea for an 8-12 week program.
