My goal has always been to bench 225lbs. Looking at two 45s on each side of the bar has always tempted me. 3 weeks ago after working out consistently since April, I have reached a max of 265lbs. I currently rep 225lbs with the "big boys". My other goal was to reach 160lbs. I've always been a 130lb (wet) weakling and envied those around me. My current weight is 180lbs. I do not know what my bodyfat % is, however the mirror says it's low .

Congrats on your success. I don't have a story yet because I'm just starting out. I'm currently in the 140 lb weakling category and my goal is to get to aroung 160. Just wondering what kind of routine you used and how long it took to put on 50 lbs.

My success story is pretty much like yours, davisp.. Trying to get my maxes up. I have upped them a lot in the past 6 months. I max out on the bench at 250, and i work out usually with 220.. I want to be able to max out at 300 and work out with 270. i am a bit heavier than you, I am 200 pounds, and my chest is the weakest part and least defined part of my body.

Lndscpn1,
Thank you. FT has been the biggest part of my change. I started out actually doing Governor Arnold's  routine from the book "The New Encyclopedia of Modern Body Building" :dumbbell:. His routine was awesome, but way too much starting out. I stuck with it religiously for about 3 months. After that, I took a few months break due to military transfer. Every 8 - 12 weeks I change my routine entirely. Sometimes I use the FT routines and alternate creating my own. Currently I am doing basic movements 4 days a week heavy (i.e. barbell/dumbell BP, incline BP, deadlifts, barbell rows, wide-chins). To gain mass you need to do basic movements.
The main thing in a good routine is to not be in a routine. You need to shock the muscles constantly. Make diet your number one concern to gain the weight and lean muscle mass. My suggestion would be to read bb1fit's posts if you haven't already. Hope this helps .
