I'm looking to cut some stubborn fat but maintain my muscle. I've done some research on the board and come across a supplement called Lean System 7. It is said to metabolize fat while maintaining lean muscle. It's main component is 7-Keto, which I read is comporable to DHEA, which I know is dangerous.
My questions- does this stuff work? (I read a post where Asimmer said she used it and it worked, and BB1 didn't downplay it, so It sounds like it may work). Also, is it safe? |

tenor - since you already read my previous, i won't repeat. But the form of 7-keto is supposed to be safer than dhea.
The thing is, when i took it i was already pre-comp dieting and doing a lot of cardio, so how to know which to attribute the fat loss to? Try tightening up your diet, cutting out refined foods and cycling your carb intake and see how far you get before adding any fat-burners. I did. I cut the refined foods and even cut all carbs that weren't vegetables. However, it's the last few stubborn pounds that just won't come off.
The reason I inquire about LS7 is because it is said to target fat directly and not muscle, making those last few pounds easier to come off. I've read positive and negative remarks on the product. It's always hard to get a concensus on anything nowadays. I was wondering how well it worked and much more important, if it was safe. I only plan on using it til the last few come off, then Im gonna stop, but I wont even start it if its dangerous. I feel as though I've plateud and need a push though. Iv etried mixing up cardio etc. to no avail. LS7 seems like it would be the answer. |

Hvae you increased your weights? Cycled your calories. Try one high carb day , like sunday - add in oatmeal, sweet potato, even a banana and then go lower again. That may kick start things.
It may be you have dropped your calories too ow and your body has stalled because it is in starvation mode, an influx of calories may help. Yeah, I've tried the shock and awe campaign on my body. The reason I am looking towards supplements now is because I seem to be stuck under a glass ceiling that I just can't pass (I've been disappointed repeatedly when trying all types of new approaches). LS7 appeals to me because it actually seems like something that will help me burn fat while still concentrating on gaining muscle, which by all accounts in difficult to do. They say it's almost impossible to do becasue to burn fat you need a caloric defecit and to build muscle you need a caloric increase. I weigh between 190 and 200, not too much fat, except around my lower abs. I wouldn't mind swopping 15 pounds of fat for 15 pounds of muscle, and just maintaining my current weight, but i have no idea if that's possible. I do know that LS7 seems to direct your body to target fat for matabolism, which seems good as everytime I try anyting without supplements (not including protein) I can't break past the ceiling. So I decided rather than waste even more time in vain, I should just give in and try supplements, but Im only interested in effective and safe ones. Perhaps I should use a carb blocker instead of LS7 to cut fat, but I would imagine that wouldn't help maintain or build muscle, instead probably being detrimental to it. However, I am completely open to your guidance and the guidance of this board because it seems to have the most unbiased and updated approaches to body aceivement.
Also, would it be dangerous to take creatine while taking LS7? |

I was looking for something to recommend to a female friend of mine who is looking for a supplement for those last few pounds. She is taking Ripped Fuel, Ephedra Free now. Asimmer mentioned LS7 in a post as a possible safer alternative and I figure maybe I should try it, but I haven't yet. I'm trying to convince my friend to get off the Ripped Fuel now and go to LS7. I have read posts on LS7 too, and many on this board have said it works. I would suggest you head whatever advice Asimmer recommends as she is a trainer and has helped me in the past with some of my questions. Viva la Asimmer.

Okay - about dhea - (thoughI think the form it is in in LS7 is modified to be less androgenic)
"DHEA entered the dietary supplement market in the mid 1990s as a longevity substance, then to promote increase in testosterone levels, which in turn may benefit strength sports. owever, DHEA is not for everyone; most health authorities do not recommend it for individuals under the age of 40. The DHEA levels decline with age, and younger people do not seem to benefit from supplemental DHEA because their bodies are already making anough. Note, too, that DHEA is banned by many sports governing organizations. DHEA is a hormone produced mainly by the adrenal glands. In men, it is also produced in the testes as an intermediate in testosterone production, and in women, it is also produced in the ovaries as an intermediate in estrogen production. DHEA seems to exert weak androgen (a steroid hormone that promotes masculine characteristics) activity, and it has also been reported to induce growth of body hair in men and women. However, in a study of men between the ages of 20 and 25, supplemental DHEA did not increase testosterone levels, but it did help cause a decrease in body fat and increase in lean body mass. Conversley, in another study, an increase in androgen levels was reported in postmenopausal women given DHEA supplements, as was an increase in bodyhair growth during the study period. Another study, this one using both men and women, did not report any significant changes in lean body mass or body fat, but did report an overall feeling of well-being. Going by the results of the studies just mentioned, medically unsupervised DHEA use by young male athletes is not warranted, though use by female athletes and by male atheltes over the age of 40 may experienece some beneficial physical and physiological effects. Other reported benefits of DHEA include immune-system enhancement, anticancer activity, antidepresant action, enhancement of mental functioning, and longevity in laboratory animals. The amounts used in studies have varied, but benefits have been reported in the 25mg to 100mg dosage range. Thanks for the info, asimmer! I remember i bought DHEA when it was out in the late 90s, but it said I was too young to take it, so I never did. (I think I was 17 at the time). Then there was a report on the news that 2 girls died by using it as a sex drug, so that was the end of that. But how dangerous can LS7 be if people are unsing it without any side effects?
Where can I find out if LS7 is too dangerous to take? Are there any supplement product review sites or anything? |

Hi Guys, I took LS7 about 3 months ago to get rid of those last 5lbs. To tell you the truth I don't really think it did anything for me. It was about a month after I stopped using LS7 and with a little extra cardio and keeping a really clean diet that I started getting the results I wanted. Mind you my goals and your goals are probably quite a bit different. Also everyones body reacts differently. :)
