Hey there,
This is my first time posting and i wanted to be useful for many people who suffer from the same situation. i want to share my experience with stretch marks.. i got stretch marks since i remember !! i got them on my abdominal, arms even on my back and i don't know why!! but since i reached 16 i decided i want them off my body  .. i told my mom about them and she told me the best way she knows that helps them fade away is olive oil. That was the start. It really helped but i didn't stop there. i asked everybody i know and most had no idea !! it seemed that i was the only one from my family with the zebra stripes.I asked a dermatologist if there is any special kind of cream thats makes them go away!! .. "VICHY" anti-stretch marks was the answer. I used it for a month and it really did wonders but it didnt make all of them go away:( .. i didnt stop here !! i searched the net, every form i know, but it was the same old results. 2 days ago we visited an old lady who i love calling El arafa which means in my language "Dr. Know it all" ;p anyways my mom asked her for this problem of mine, and guess what !! she said Hena+apple cider vinger mix with water till u get a good mixture to use as a mask for ur body. At first i was shocked , i know that hena is used for the hair but "body" !! anyways she said that it would give me a golden color but eventually it would fade away taking the stretch marks of.The thing about it is it takes of dead skin cells and firms the skin. Last night i got a bag of Hena and i will use it tonight after shower. This time i will use El arafa remedies religiously and if it really works i will write down all the ingredients used and how to apply it. But girls out there just don't give up!! As long as there is a Sun shining there is a Will to overcome problems. urs, Zee ;u P.S I want to thank the people working on this site. It is a great one. i was never overweight but i wasn't in good shape though, it helped me see some good muscles on my arms:big_smile: |

Are they really bad ? or just a couple of marks ? if they're not alot ,use body scrub once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and after shower massage them with olive oil. It really works but not for old stretch marks.
i wish this helps u . Zee ;u |

I read up that you could try to laser them. Some say it helps others say it doesn't. If they are on your stomach you can get a tummy tuck.
From what I read stretch marks are actual scars deep within the tissue so that's why they are hard to fix. You can diminish them but you will not make them disappear witout actual surgery. You can get them from gaining weight, growth spurts and muscle growth believe it or not. Some just get them because of the type of skin they have. I'm pretty sure a majority of people have them, no big deal really, just be happy if you only have a few and they turned that nice pearly white so they are harder to see ; ) Funny, henna for hair, tattoo's and now stretch marks? I don't believe it lol! Maybe you are supposed to put a henna tattoo ON the stretch mark?? ; ) Good luck Zee! ============ Quoting from godlike: there not that bad . I have few there in same place as u. I wish there was something doctor could do to get rid of therm ============= -------------- Damselfly Whoever said that sunshine brings happiness never danced in the rain. \\"unknown\\" |

I would never consider surgery, even if it was the only choice.
From what i understood ,i should apply it on the area where i got stretch marks.I tried Hena last night and i got more like a burned color than tanned. and now its really iching me.:(. its like tanning but without a sun ! i dont know if i used the right quantity of apple cider vinger!!i'll keep on doing what im doing and hope it works. Thanks Damselfly, good luck with what ur doing, too. urs, Zee ;u |

Be careful, some people are allergic to henna.

yep. i think henna has some compounds that do burn into the skin, it actually seems to burn the color into your skin. especially if you're using the kind that came from the mid-east or india. That's why when you look at your henna-d skin, versus the normal one beside it, the one treated with henna looks crinkled and dried up. I loved getting henna tats then, still do, but I don't do them often now because of that. I'm too chicken to get a real tat and I'd rather her my skin as it is, not dried up. -------------- The best victories are won not by adversity and brute force. Learn the enemy and overcome it. hey zee
when i was 16 (well since puberty really) i had stretch marks all over my chest and hips. one summer between AA cups and C's wasn't too good. however they eventually faded from purple to a white color which stayed a while and now at 22 they are almost gone. I used to be really seof conscious about them, but don't worry about it too much. I used to think that guys would think something was wrong with me, but you know what- even if anyone did WHO CARES!!! of course I understand that takin off the stretch marks is important to ya. so good for you if you found a way, just don't worry if this doesn't work too well. |

If I recall correctly, I read an article recently in a magazine that said Retin-A, an acne medicine, helps diminish their appearance. It doesn't completely get rid of them. Just tones them down some.-------------- Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again. James R. Cook |

Something about timing out when you're typing your post and then hit send. I've seen it happen to a few people lately.
I'm sorry that the henna gave you such trouble. Good luck in your endeavor, and if you get tired of trying to get rid of them or hide them try smiling more and just taking them as part of the territory. Genetics play a big role in our bodies. Best of luck! :) |

I highly recommend Palmer's cocoa buttter and cocoa butter lotion. It won't get rid of them completely, but it will fade them significantly. My mother used it during her pregnancy, and she didn't have any stretch marks at all. Obviously it's a better preventative meausure, but if you've already got them cocoa butter can diminish them. You have to use it every day! If you don't want to walk around smelling like a sugary dessert, you can buy it fragrance free.
