Here is a good start, look at the bottom of the page and you will find a box where you can type a question, there is tons of information. Don' t be embarrased, we were all newbies at one time or another.
Good Luck!

HIIT is High Intensity Interval Training...

This is a form of aerobic exercise that is pretty effective... I like it the best... many different methods for doing this.. you can use a bike, walk/jog, run on the spot, whatever...

Basically, you warm up for about three or four minutes... then, go hard for about 30 seconds, then slow down for 30 seconds... go hard for 30, slow for 30... keep that pace up for a bit, then cool down...

The whole process should take about 20 minutes..

The above is just one way of doing this, there are many... as fsdsk suggests, use fit buddy to do a search and find other options that may work for you!

thanks guys for the replies, and the clarification.I read Tim's post and checked out Aaron's website, and now I have a pretty good idea what HIIT is. I think I had heard of it in its most primitive form and have been trying to get at least one sprint in to my bicycle workout. My 'instructor' probably knows less about fitness than I do, which is why I finally had to go look for help on the net. I definitely will be including HIIT in my workouts from now on . Thanks again
