cold meat and you wont feel hungry(atkins concept)
low or no carb same to similar reason above.
Anything containing nuts(not salted) or 5 brazil nuts!
A palm full of walnuts and same of grapes.
NOT cheese or dairy/pastry/cake/confectionary as mostly contains things that help keep you awake, worst being cheese!
NOT energy giving fruits/drinks etc...
Sorry if it's all simple and boring but that's what I'd choose.

Cottage Cheese is probably one of the best due to slow digestion protein.

I usually dance with the goblins and awake in a pool of sweat if I eat cheese last thing at night, but cottage cheese doesn't seem to have the same effect, (maybe it's lower in tyramine?), so I usually have cottage cheese or a can of tuna on toast(wholemeal of course:))

Fat Free Milk is a great think to drink before bed. It contains mostly casein (if I spelled that correctly) protein. It is the kind of protein that dissolves very slowy, so you'lle get plenty of protein throughout your night of rest.

I usually have 250grams of cottage cheese with a slice of grain bread (toasted). Never kept me awake yet!
You can have some egg whites also.

It's a little on the high fat side, but Soynut butter (Peanut allergic :( )on whole wheat crackers (like Triscits) hits the spot for me.
OR if I really want some carbs, fat & sugar - GrapeNuts over Ice Cream. But definitely not any ever day thing.
