Hello all my question is about the ratio of protein/carbs/fats. I read that 45% should come from carbs 35% from protein an 20% from fats. In this same article i read that to find the min amount of carbs u should have in a meal is by multiplying the amount of protein that you eat in your meal by 1 and for max carbs u multiply by 1.5. And for fats protein x .26 for min and .44 for max. Is this a good ratio? Please let me know what you guys think i would like to hear your input. Thanks

Well, by your profile, your goal is to get cut(that nice six pack as you put it). Depending on your current diet, this could be a place to start. But first, get your overall calorie amount in place. It will not matter what your macros are if your calories are too high. You need to find maintenance first. The ratios you read can be beneficial, especially if you are just changing over to a healthy type diet. In that case, just cleaning up your diet and using these macros will work some. But to get that 6 pack, you will probably have to adjust your macros to more of a higher protein, lower carb type. Such as 50/30/20, p/c/f. Your carbs should come from mostly fibrous sources, andd your proteins lean proteins. Your fats should be from healthy EFA's such as fish oil, flax oil, natural peanut butter, a bit of olive oil, etc.

It is very difficult to just pick a number from an article and say ok, I am going to use this. In general, that macro ratio is a quality amount for a good solid healthy diet, but depending on what you are striving for, you need to adjust to meet your needs. It all starts with getting your calorie requirements correct first, then adjusting your macros to reach your desired goal.
