My friend went to a health farm a few days ago and got an allergie test done...she found out she was allergic to dairy foods and wheat. I realise sometimes that when i eat bread i come out in a rash. Were could i get an allergy test done and what are the dangers of eating foods that you are allergic too. :surprised:

I'm sure some of the high street pharmacists would be able to do something like that, or even larger Boots stores. Failing that check with your GP - they might even offer a service. As for the dangers, not really sure. The rash could be connected to eating bread, or the type of bread.

You could test it for yourself. Sometimes those allergy tests do not give accurate results - trust me I know. I was told that I was allergic to wheat, milk, & peanuts tears ago. I held off for about a year and am not eating all of them without negative results. Eat some bread and see what happens. Also - change up what you eat with the bread. If you eat tuna with bread all the time, you could be allergic to the tuna and not the bread - make sense?
Word of caution - if you ever begin to have difficulty breathing due to food allergies, seek medical help immediatly.

The safest way to find out would be to see a doctor (Allergist) and run a series of food tests. It only takes an hour. Better than finding out on your own and having a dangerous re-action.
Just my 2 cents.

Me too I cannot handle well too many diary products..... I've never had a test done but I get stomach ache, cramps and bloating so I simply avoid it.
Yes, it'll be a good idea to make a test but first of all; listen to your body!

My wife used to experience these symptons. She took those anti-dairy pills. (I don't know medicine names, she just holds them out and says to take one.) It was something like Dairy-ease or Lactaid or something. You can get them OTC at any pharmacy store or the grocery store (cheaper at the pharmacy in the store brand). She took one of those whever she was going to eat pizza, Italian, Grilled Cheese sandwiches (Sonic), or Yogurt. She also found that Coke and Bread illicited the same biochemical response as the dairy.
I'm sure that Mark (Ususarktos?) could answer this better.
I think the pills were called Lactaid. They counter the Lactic Acid in the dairy, I think. (I'm not medically smart AT ALL.)
Hope that helps
