My wife has extra prenatal vitamins that the military gives us for free. It has the contents on it which include all required vitamins unlike some prenatal vitamins. However, it also includes an abundance of iron. Would it be unsafe for me to take her prenatal vitamins in fear of overdosing on the iron?

It depends on how much iron is in them, but the main problem with excessive iron is constipation unless you are taking mega doses. I can't imagine that a prenatal tab would contain too high an amount of any vitamin or mineral.
Tannins in tea bind to iron and cut down on absorption so you could drink tea with the tabs.
I assume they won't contain vitamin A either so you will need to get that from your diet.

These tabs contain the following:

Vitamin A* - 4200 I.U.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) - 120 mg
Calcium (as calcium sulfate) - 200 mg
Iron (ferrous fumarate) - 27 mg
Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) - 400 I.U.
Vitamin E (d-alpha tocopheryl acetate) - 22 mg
Vitamin B1 (thiamine mononitrate) - 1.84 mg
Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) - 3 mg
Niacinamide - 20 mg
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) - 10 mg
Folic Acid - 1 mg
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) - 12 mcg
Zinc (zinc oxide) - 25 mg
Copper (cupric oxide) - 2 mg

* input as vitamin A acetate and beta carotene

The iron is 150% the daily allowance. However, I'll try that tea idea. I'm only taking one a day. Usually right after my workout on gym days. Thank you for the response princess .

I wouldn't bother with the tea, that dose of iron is not very high anyway. :)
