as salad cream has 35 grams of fat and only 3.3 of them are saturated does this mean the fat that is left is pollyunsaturated and mono unsaturated or are there other different fats in it. if there are just them 3 types of fat in it does this mean it will be good in my diet if not would it matter much if i included it in my meals. thanks gelson!!!!

Actually, the fat content may be too high if you are on a low-calorie diet. I take it it's 35g per serving. How much in one serving? Does it offer any other nutritional value (i.e. carbohydrates, protein, etc.)? Don't just look at the fat content.
And yes, saturated fat is the one you want to stay away from and if the ratio is fairly high, then you may be consuming too much of the "unwanted" fat.

if the kinds of fat are not listed, what may be included in the total grams is something much worse than saturated fats, and those are trans-fatty acids. these are unsaturated fats that have been altered by food companies to more resemble saturated fats. the problem with them is that they stick to your arteries worse than anything else; and the FDA does not require them to be listed on food labels. look for anything in the ingredient list that has "hydrogenated oil" in it... thats a trans fatty acid.
good luck..........michael

opt for a substitute. you would be better of with a safflower or olive oil. If you are using in salads maybe whipped cottage cheese, or plain yogurt. Add spices for flavor.

I would stay away from anything that has that much fat per serving if you are trying to get cut or lose weight. If you are worried about EFA's, just take flax oil or something like it.
