I just had to post today. While I haven't been to this site in awhile, I am so excited over my found motivation and improvement.

I started here at 32% body fat and now I am at 27%. While that may not seem like a lot to some people, it's wonderful to me. Slowly but surely it will come off.

My discouragement came when I jumped full swing into exercise and eating habits. While this works for some people, It wasn't good for me. It was ok the first couple of weeks but I didn't have much energy for anything else. I did too much too soon.

Also, I had to contend with the rude people at the gym who just were not nice to me at all.

I didn't want to give up

But, my exercise machine was under a pile of junk on my porch, I couldn't get to my treadmill either. I had a lot of work to do before I could think about getting to the exercise.

I have two sites that have motivated me. Flylady.com and Freetrainers.com

I started taking babysteps and now I am just doing everything.

I mow the lawn without the self-propel, I haul away junk by myself instead of leaving it for my husband, I scrub and clean and declutter my home, I ride a bike with my son, I have cleaned up my yard, sheds, and planted a garden by hand. I don't let my husband carry in the groceries, I follow my kids around when we go to the park. I wash my car by hand. This list goes on and on and now I am finding the time to exercise. I have no excuse anymore because my house looks great, I am planning my meals, but most of all its babysteps.

I am now able to get on my exercise machine and treadmill without any excuses. I am now able to put Freetrainers to full use as I now have things organized around the house.

I have received some of the best advice from this site and the best that sticks out in my mind is DRINK WATER!!! Water is my new best friend. I know it's hard but its a great habit.

I get up and tell myself every morning to get moving and start flying..

If anyone else needs help getting their house cleaned up and organized, I have to say that flylady.com will help you. It gave me motivation to get my house out of the clutter and gave me time to exercise, plan meals, and even create a journal that I can keep up on. This site even reminds with and email to exercise for at least 5 minutes everyday!

amandamae congrats on the wieghtloss. I also went from around 32% body fat to around 27%. I didn't realize how much better I was looking until I put on a pair of pants (size 8) that used to be tight in a lot of places and they were loose under the butt and even the INNER THIGHS!!! I was very excited. I am also using baby steps. I started by not really changing a whole lot about the types of food I eat, although I am conscious of it, and I just cut the portion sizes tremendously and I stopped snacking. That alone accounts for the 9 or 10 pound weight loss. I know that I am not eating enough to exercise and that is my next goal. Since I started doing cardio classes 3 times a week (and paying 90 bucks a month sure helps me go a lot to get my moneys worth) soon I will be trying to go even more and I will start the weight training back up. Then comes the clean, clean diet. I know what I need to eat and I am prepared for it. I'm making a plan that will hopefully get me all the calories and protein that I need and I am figuring out how to plan my days in order to balance it all. It has been hectic since I just graduated college and started a full time job. The one good thing is that I vowed to never eat at my desk so that kept me from grazing all day long like I did in college. Now I'm not even hungry most of the time and since my eating schedule is set I know that I can begin to do the right things.

My goal is to try out to be a dancer for the Atlanta Hawks (although I must wait until NEXT year to do this). One year will give me plenty of time to get into tip top shape the right way!

Good luck on your future losses and thanks for posting such encouraging words. I am going to check out flylady.com right now!

amandamae, just wanted to tell you that I looked at Flylady.com yesterday, and signed up right away. What a Godsend. Already I am seeing a more positive change in my attitude with the reminders. I shined my sink last night, and when I got up this morning it was wonderful. Thanks for giving all of us the opportunity to visit this fantastic sight!!

What a great dream bobosensei and I know you can do it. It takes time, thats for sure but it can be done! :)

I am so glad you guys checked out flylady.com
I read about her in a Dear Abbey. This woman was so frustrated about not having time for anything and clutter in her home. Someone answered her with that site.

I was never taught organizing but this site works for me! After a couple months at her site...my sink still shines and I have time to fit in the exercise. You get a lot of emails in a day but its still ok. I just delete the ones I can't get around to doing. Also, I just added my exercise in the journal. I checked my weight once a month and now I am putting the Body builders grocery list from this site into it. I put what I need on my weekly grocery list. I even remember to take my vitamins every day! Isn't it nice to wake up and have your sink clean!

I have read many messages on here about people not having time. If it's because your always messing with your house..this site definitely helps.
